I think it can only be a good thing.

The yanks will get the events they've been craving.

We'll all have more people around, more crafters, more mats, a greater pool of people to guild-recruit from.

Maybe with more people around we can delete some of the annoying NPCs from around the cities

Actually i'm pretty happy of this merge. I'm european but i was playing on NA servers due to having friends there... But the GMT was a big problem! I'm really grateful to be able to play on the european server with my NA friends

Please find below some additional information on the Server merge from Nevrax:

We will carry out, in the very near future, a merge of our English speaking shards. We hope that by doing so it will enhance your gameplay and community experience on Atys.

**The merge
The merge will take place very soon. Windermeer will merge with Arispotle, the combined world will retain the Arispotle name.

We understand that server identity is important for our players so we will integrate server titles, so you can display your server of origin if you wish.

**Character clean up
To aid the process, characters below level 20 in their highest skills that have not been logged in for 3 months will be cleaned up and no longer available after the merge, on Windermeer and Arispotle. We suggest that if you have a low level character you haven’t used for a while, you may want to log him/her in before the merge happens.

**Duplicate Character Names
During the merge, some characters could well end up having the same name. If this happens the character with the most played time will keep the name. The other will be renamed ‘defaultAAA’ and entitled to a character name change which our in-game support team will be happy to provide you with. Of course all names have to be valid via our naming policy.

**Duplicate Guild Names
During the merge, some guilds might have the same name. In the case where two guilds share the same name, the one with the most active members will keep the name. The other will be renamed and entitled to a guild change name which our in-game support team will be happy to provide you with. Of course all names have to be valid via our naming policy.

**Live chat support
After the merge, the live chat support tool (aka Klients) will also change. Former players from Windermeer will have to download the EE Klients in order to get support out of game or just chat with other players.

No - That was because of an issue related to this morning's server crash. Evolution will be back eventually. The devs are still looking into this and I hope this issue will be resolved soon.

Negative viewpoint:
I'm not that happy about it yet... it seems that the problems and lack of things have led to a low server population. now that is solved by merging 2 servers into one.

This does not solove the underlying problem of not much to do but grind for levels at wich people have hinted. it does solve a financial problem since it meens less people to pay and less resources.

There could be a problem with the merging of the community but that is waht the other part is about.

Positive viewpoint:
It would be nice to meet some yanks again it has been a while since i spoke to one of them peoples from over the sea! there will be more people around so more friends and community spirit. We can hold a welcome ceremony for both groups on the server to get to know each other, with yubo's on sticks, (don't let frydeswinde know that yet ) clopper BBQ and firewine

All in all it can be fun or no fun, it depends on us all
