I am not going to get sappy. I loved this game when it started, or rather loved what the game promised to become. I loved the community, but losing so many of us to patch one, and more and more since then has been sad.
My daughter is still going to be playing, and from time to time I will ask her how things are going, or lurk here.
I have many reasons for leaving, some game related, but not all. Part of it is my real life has gotten WAY busy, two home based businesses that took off like wild and moving across town.
But part of it is that I am more of an explorer, and Ryzom has more agro mobs per square inch of game world than any other game I have ever played. I found it easier to get to the second floor of Velk's lab than get through some bottle necked spots on Atys. I just can't play in a game where travel is so difficult.
Also the growth of the game is MUCH slower than I expected, from all the stuff that was posted in beta, I expected the new planet out before my birthday in June. From the speed I see in game, I doubt the plans for the new planet are even on the drawing boards.
I am off to beta testing again, and venturing into the non vertual world for a change.
The gaming world is small, I am sure we will see each other somewhere out there, someday. Til then...Blessed Be.

Re: Leaving
I can understand being to busy but i guess you dont know why its so hard to explore. Its like this ,with the Great Dragon the races were being destored. This gave the Kitins and the other creatures time to grow and new path opened and they moved to new places and breed. If was easy we wouldn't need the all of the fighters, crafters, mages, harvesters, and Atys would at peace.Thats just boring no need for huge parties, testing our skilles, trying spells, etc.
Im a master gamer and i have yet too see a good game where exploring is always easy.

Re: Leaving
but what if your collection of your games in storage is over 5,000 the ones at your house alone are over 1200, this is only pc games, then the amiga ones over 6,000, what if you have every atari console game ever created? odesee? commodore 64? vic-20? sega? genesis? ps2? gamecube? ps? man my list goes on..
and I date back to the early 80's on collecting games, i still have the original pong.. what level of play does that make me?

Re: Leaving
bye lyrah. Sorry to see you go, but at least you will look once in awhile.
One thing I learned in beta testing is Great Patience. So I will patiently sit here and enjoy what I can.
Hope to see you again somewhere in some game or back in Ryzom.

Re: Leaving
Lyrah68, sorry to hear that you have to go, but completely understandable due to RL situations for sure. In addition, anyone who gets to a point when playing a game has become more of a chore than fun should always step back and take a break. I, and I am sure many others as well, hope to see you back here in Atys one day. Hope those RL businesses continue to do well, be profitable for you and grow.lyrah68 wrote:I am not going to get sappy. Re: Leaving
Well the most stressful part of the move is playing "you got the mortage, OOPS, no you don't". The first part of February we played Mortage company roulette. The saddest part is our buyers agent says "don't feel too bad, it is like this for EVERYONE."
Well I look forward to my hottub.
