Welcome to Atys, my character is much like yours a healer/warrior

I tend to carry around a set of heavy armour and my blade for when i wanna hurt stuff, also a set of light casting gear and my magic amps for when healing is needed.
I still have room for collecting some bones, teeth, skins and such (must have massive pockets :D )
I do the same. You just need to swap clothes/gear before doing the other skill. If you have a team mate who you work with regularly (as you said) then you can take turns doing each skill.

No, no use your HIGHEST! You clear more DP points per XP point you would have gained with your HIGHEST skill.

To expand on this .... use the skill that you get the fastest XP that is closest to you main branch.

EG

My highest lvl is 205 harvest, but becuase I use a carer I get 1.5k XP per dig

1 dig say takes 1 min so I get (20.5x1500) 31k DP cleared per min

My melee lvl is 150 ish, but in a team with a Nuker+healer I can get 3k every 15 secs.

so in 1 min I can kill 4 mobs (zero down time due to healer) therefore I clear DP @ (15x3000) 45k x 4 = 180k dp cleared per min.

Its therefore more effective to use melee in my example.

DP is not a problem if you understand how it works. TBH if you enjoy the thing you are doing, I don't see the time as wasted what ever skill I use.

FUN > XP in my book :O

Huh? Harvesting (and presumably crafting too) can be used to clear DP? I assumed it was only fight xp, lol. Excellent, must make a start on those skills soon - good info thanks.

Hehe Crafting with DP causes a lot of players great pains ;)

Some of my trees give 9k XP @ around lvl 110 to 130 ....

when you clear DP at 99k - 127k .... Burning a few (100) mats, so I can go out hunting in a hurry is a via able option to me :D

However if you get 1k xp crafting and it takes you an hour to get the mats for the craft - this would be the worst way to clear your DP :P

DP clearance = skill lvl in tree used / 10 * XP gained (ANY SKILL TREE)

DP earned is based on you highest level - see Balistic Mystic

Well, you know Jackoba, the funny thing is I actually ended up in your neck of the woods last night. Was keeping my eyes peeled but didnt see you. Thought maybe I could borrow a pair of shorts & a deckchair or something :)

Anyhow, we zoned to the mainland yesterday afternoon & then I headed straight north on my own. Picked up the spawns for Abyss of Ichor, Thesos etc on the way up. It was a brilliant trip had my heart pumping the whole time. Naturally DP got maxed at about 75000 or something but I met Pinsao of the Samsara near Pyr and she very kindly spent loads of time with me working it off & passing on lots of tips too. She's a credit that girl :)

Anyhow, thought that might give you a smile. Ill be in Pyr for a few days if you fancy re-inacting the final scene from 'Ice Cold in Alex' (nah you guys are all prob too young to know what the heck Im talking about) Suffice to say in involves veeerry cold beer ;)

Ah you must have missed me fending off the varinx south of dyron lake, one of them was eating my deckchair and a timi was sniffing my beer placed in the shallow of the lake to keep it cool

next time just try /who and you'll find me mostly around dyron at the moment. oh and just before I logged I saw pinsao outside the east stables of pyr so the samasara must have just finished emptying your pockets without you noticing ;)

and if you need to make it to dyron I will run you there, its not such a heart pumping trip as through hidden source, I still have the scars from doing that trip solo (maybe even zorai if I'm not stolen away by my guildmates) just give me a /tel and I will work something out
