Yeah, whenever you get to the high levels of armour you can really stop that annoying damage caused to you by loads of low level mobs (see gingos for details) and as far as I know you can increase the protection factor quite drastically if you use the right materials. I must admit, I do prefer parry mats but you really need big mob mats to get them.
