Not many years in the past, during the Force of Fraternity's world-wide campaign against the Kitin hordes, four great warriors were deep in discussion concerning the fate of their mission. They all felt that without a significant morale boost, the forces of hominkind would not long last the onslaught of the vile Kitin. They gathered together what meager supplies they had and secretly prepared a feast for all of their company to enjoy. When asked what the purpose of such a grand event was, it was the noble Kalus Hym who responded, according to legend, "We gather here to celebrate new life. Not just the turning of the chilled, desolate winter into the energetic and hopeful spring, but also the fate of hominkind. For we, also, are now emerging from the cold, desolate period to defeat the Kitin threat once and finally so that our people may blossom." Upon saying this, he spotted a single gilli flower (a rare sight on the surface of Atys, let alone the hostile Prime Roots). He presented it to the troops as a sign of hope. Almost a year later, the homins returned to their homelands, successful.
In memory of this, every year near the turning of winter to spring, hominkind is called to renew their convictions, hopes and dreams. It is now customary to present any homin you come across with a flower, followed with the phrase "A Joyous New Spring to you!"
Here is your flower, and "A Joyous New Spring to you!"
Note: In recent years, presenting with a red colored flower has become a sign of attraction or intimacy. All other colors carry no wide-spread meaning.
And a Joyous New Spring to you!

Very good story. Very nice how it takes a rl tradition and puts it in the game world. Too bad we don't have more of that in this game.
