1. Leet Speak
Despite what many people think, leet speak is not when you make letters with non-letter characters, like
| /\/\ |_33+ 2 |)00|)!!!
Though the non-letter characters used to make letters method is used occasionally, it is primarily made up of numbers acting as letters, like so.
y0 j00!!111 u c m3 0wnz0rz dat n00b v3r1ly ?? lolololololololo
Note that j00 is often used in place of "you" and many words end with a 0rz or a z. Also, letters aren't ALWAYS used, just when someone feels like being "l337". Leet Speak originated as a way for getting vulgar words (such as "u r fuxx0rz d00d!!) through filters in chat rooms and games.

Re: How to avoid burn out in any game - Ryzom in particular!
Therefor it also seems that with Leetspeak comes a certain air of inmaturity. These are the kind of people who embrace the anonimosity of the internet to shout at others and can be found mostly in the ages 12~17, but some younger or older are reported.
Killing (pk'ing) another player that is no match for them makes them feel superiour above all others, while getting killed is mostly caused by lag, uneven numbers or the other using a "hack" or being a cheater for having more raw power then the 7331 himself. The double standard in this is common and overlooked.
A typical 7331 can be recognized by:
- using gibberish as writing in chatchannels
- Not accepting no as a return
- Repeatedly asking for items, money or whatever can be gained from a guild, while not keeping an eye on the balance in this.
- A general negative attitude
- Using exploits whereever possible to gain more of whatever the game is about.
Errata:
7331, also Leet. Comes from Elite as a proverb for feeling superiour to others while getting a certain underground feeling to it. The usage of 7331 is quite old and is kept alive in many MMO's but considered bad form by more mature gamers. The hackers who used the term Elite -> Leet will be offended when associated with the 7331 in any way.
pk, also PK. Player Killing or Player Killer. A person who creates an overpowered character in an online game with the single goal of killing other players of the same game. Often proud when called this. PK guild are know, most of the time hosted at geocities and featuring black background, skulls, animated flames and sometimes animated pentagrams as well. Excessive usage of the <blink> tag has been reported.
hax, hack. Derivation of h4x0r, which comes from hacker. A hacker is a person looking for vulnarabilities in any computersystem using or not using illegal methods with the goal of personal satisfaction that comes with succeding in said activity. Any flaws or faults in the system are reported to the systems operator to prevent malicious individuals to do the same and cause damage. In common, a hacker and a h4x0r are not alike in that the h4x0r lacks any skills but the knowledge of the right place to find scripts or fake logins and passwords. Again, association of a hacker with a h4x0r will cause severe anger and may result in strange records from a XXX-rated company on your creditcard account.
I hope this helps in understanding some who claim they "pwnz j00", as they are making normal conversation in their universe. It can be considered an offer for a duel, but beware that accepting it might result in more inunderstadable chats in your channel when you beat them or get beaten by them.

Some very disgusting marketing there, about the theft of software. So much for ms being helpfull for free.
woot or \o/ is more commonly used as a cry of fun, like jippee. We Own the Other Team. Bah, says dogbert.
