I must say I dont think I have ever felt unappreciated as a healer (even as a support healer) mostly when I team I'm very well protected and no-one gripes at me (must be good at it then).

what I think is bad is tanks/nukers with no healing skills. even if you only get heal to lvl101 you should at least be able to save your team after a wipe :)

LAst night had a couple eles leeching xp but when I suggested that Id like to get some xp on melee or ele they buggered off!
I come more and more to the conclusion that many ppls do no forcast or craft. Just hunting. It s obvious they are always short on dapper and need of course melee xp and loot.

np with me. I want to reach lvl100 healing and i have enough dapper ;)

What is a good healer?
One who doesnt use heaviest spell all the time.
Life is all about priorities. Did the nuker already hit the mob? Rather keep the tanks up and fit as they are your final line of defence. So one that can make decicions who to heal with what spell in a split second.
One that dares to keep the other healers up in favor of a tank, while keeping the lvl of the mob in mind.
A healer's job is not done when a mob dies, the nuker and other mag users might need some life or sap. So a good healer doesnt stop.
A good healer knows his teammates. Does healer1 has the tendancy to rez dead tanks as soon as they go down? Down heal the dead tank yourself, rather heal the one standing up as he will get hit harder now.
A very good healer develops a feeling for the power of his heals vs the stats of the one he is healing. Say healer1 can heal 800 hp and the nuker has 1200. Healer1 will only give nuker 1 heal before moving on to the next, instead of frantic pushing 11111 untill nuker is back full again.

I dont blame anyone they dont want to heal, as soon as I started working like this people started considering me a high lvl healer, while I am still at lvl61. People I know that work like this and who I trust blind when fighting:

- Drakfot
- Jeannie
- Zespiole
- Sxarlet
- Aaries

Likely there are many more, but we didnt had the pleasure to do extensive teaming :D
Quite frankly Fry this was a good summary! Helped me a lot how people like to be healed. If only I knew that a little earlier...

Ehm, I have a confession to make. I dont share loot when I tank because I forget to do so. The fun for me when tanking is the actual killing and when I loot, a respawn will come faster. I can dig ql170 mats much faster then I can kill, so I really dont need the mats for crafting and neither for the dappers. I just loot to force respawn, because I am rich. This is thanks to months of digging and crafing and to people buying my gear from me or stores.

So I dont share with the healer, simply because I forget someone might actually need the mats/dappers. Next time, the healers will receive all the loot. Keep some space in you inventory :)

Never been that fussed about loot either, exception Named mobs :D .
I, like my unconfirmed Sis here, loot purely for spawn speed (shakes rattle at Tanks who don't loot!)

I tend to give stacks to the support/nuke team during the rest periods and I usually know or ask what specific mats they are looking for. I have been know to cut out the middle man a convert loot in to dappers for team members who want it. I have started build the extension to my appartment out of the dappers rather that with what they can buy :P

Since I started to ask for 'mats' instead of dappers, I have found that non-diggers are starting to appreciate the effort that went into leveling craft and harvest. It may not take long to collect the mats and make the armour now..... but hey to wear the armour you didn't have to level 5+ trees to 150+ did you :P

"... you want to go where everybody knows your name... " Cheers :P

On healers, its a tough job and not many people are into it, since most people want some sort of damage or offensive skill that can make a difference when trouble comes, and with the amount of harvesters/crafters ingame a way to get through mobs is very handy to get to that excellent mat spot. Other people go for damage skills because of the "powa"... but i think a recent event and a celestial guardian made it quite obvious that much is to be gained from having a good healer with you...

But its true that many times there is conflict between team members on who will heal or not (the wonders of a open skill system :P )... although I think with the wars, battles, duels and head butts that will arise from outposts being introduced there will be no shortage of healers in no time.

Probably one of those personal preferences but a heal enchanted weapon for when things get nasty has saved the day on a few occasions. Pretty nifty in pvp too when your in melee mode and the rest of your teams down.

Also like the fact iam effectively a cleric... in a skill based game :)

1h mace, medium armour and a heavy shield. keep my healing higher than my melee... and a sense of self satisfaction that i dont level elemental or 2h pike ;)
and the light at the end of the tunnel was the light of an oncoming train...
