Rings are easy to make q160 and rings at q160 takes ages and a lot of degraded... Been like that for a long time now...Explain me please :-)
Assuming you mean earrings that keep degrading:

It is cuz earrings are doomed. Everyone knows *that*. Sheez, some people...

I assume it has something to do with the number of mats. Items with even mat numbers seem to degrade far more often then items with uneven mat numbers. Or is that just coincidence.

Just to add to the degrade confusion:

Gloves, Pants, Sleeves, Helm, Boots @ 26% success rate - success first craft!

Vest @ 26% success rate: 20 degrades in a row :(

Tool had 60-70 HPs
Bag was empty
Mats were of excellent grade
Mats were +20 to +30 above ql crafted.

As a test I put through basic mats - success first time :(

Used ALMOST all of my stored Excellent mats and got 1 success after approximately 25 crafts (wasted 1000 excellent mats on a single item!)

26% = 1/4 chance ....... 1/25 is worse than the default 5% :(

Also as a result I broke the last of my ql170 Focus jewels doing this crafting.....

I tend to think that there is a random element in this thing. How else you could manage something like "chance" ?

If it is a pure calculation you should get @52% 48 degrades per 100 items.

I think about something like a random number out of 100. If its within the scale of percentage you have a full item, if its outside you get a degrade. Fair, but still random.

When I've ground 400 or 500 jewelry pieces at one sitting (well, intermixed with a couple visits to the stable boy) my success numbers are actually fairly close to what they should be. I agree that the the random number generator short term can do some pretty wacky 5 standard deviation things though.

Getting successes each time is simple - just make sure you do the following procedure before each craft:

Unequip all armour (you need to be naked for this)
Only use a tool with 100/100 durability
Sidestep left, then right - repeat a few times
Sit down and stand up 10 times quickly

Works every time, honest!

Hi,

Can you explain to a n00b crafter, how you can make things your lvl+50?

Keep it simple though, using words of max 10 letters, for us thick combat types please!

Thanks

It happens after your craft trees have branched.

Say your 2h weapon crafting is at 100, you can get Weapon Crafting 11 and make Q110 weapons.

Now even if your 1h Weapon crafting is only at 51 still, you can still craft Q110 1h weapons. You'll just have a lousy success rate.
