From Tryker to Matis, from Matis to Zoari. There are a DOZEN different areas where you MUST cross a PVP area or other PR to get from cultural land to cultural land.

Honestly I haven't tried to go into PR, ANY PR, I am trapped and gimped due to PVP. I WILL not go! PVP is not fun for me.

PVP is like a Musical style. If it is YOUR style...you LOVE it, but I would be rather certain that you have a style of music that you would rather get a ROOT canal than listen to. THAT is what PVP is like to me, a root canal WITHOUT novicane!

Do you have kids? Have you read Green Eggs and Ham. Whereever it has green eggs and ham...insert PVP instead. I will not PVP in this game, I will not PVP in that game, not in the rain, not on a train. I do NOT like PVP Sam I am.

Do you really think that people are waiting for you to come down into the PR just to kill you? The PR is huge! Fair enough if people are waiting down near the entrance but I know this isn't the case.

Just recently my guild held a mini-trek to try to get some of us newer players access to the PR spawn points and teleporters. We visited the Abyss, the Nexus and the Lands of Umbra. Now, I'm not saying we saw every little nook and cranny, but during that 4 hour session (most of it in the Abyss), the only players we saw were us.

I'm more likely to run into a PvP'er in the normal lands when some young'en decided to challenge me to duel just because he's bored. Glad I can say "no," because without a good reason, I don't see the point to PvP either. Even then, it doesn't happen very often.

Avoiding it by avoiding others is NOT the point. That is like wearing ear plugs to avoid offensive noise/others idea of Cooo' muzic. I think that the right to say NO even if you don't NEED to should be there.

It is like Smart sound on my TV, just because I don't NEED it to automatically turn down LOUD commercials (car commercials are the WORST "COME ON DOWN NOW!!!") doesn't mean that I don't WANT and am willing to pay more for a TV set that HAS it.

PLUS, what HARM does the OFF switch do to those that DO want to mosh? Nothing, those that LIKE Mosh pit/PVP can still mosh pit, with those that WANT TO, so they are not harmed by MY PVP being set OFF.

With Outposts this will become MUCH more necessary. I would say that those with PVP turned OFF should be marked as peaceful, so that those that defend the outposts will not have to worry about us. Peaceful would be able to come and go at will, but those with HARMFUL intent would have to tread with care...as it should be.

Exactly, which makes me wonder...WHY even HAVE PVP? If very few want it, and PVP is as rare as making it from Tryker to Tryker (world tour) SOLO without ONE death...then WHY NOT have the OFF switch?!

Having an "off-switch" allows players to act as spies on people who are PvP'ing. It leaves the entire concept of PvP up in the air, as said spies would be able to follow an opposing team/guild around without any fear of being attacked by them (as their PvP switch is set to "off"). - There's one reason.

On a different side of the coin. Having a working PvP online environment would be a great advertisement for potential buyers of their engine. It would.

fun fact: nevrax tends to implement stuff that will have only relevance in the future, in general, they treat anything with an attitude as if future things have already been done.

now take the pvp in the roots as it is now: useless

now imagine having OPs and one guild trying to take another op, problem, they need better equipment since they keep getting their asses handed to them

with permanent off switch:
attacking guild makes some harvest-only characters or has some people who don't do anything else anyways throw it, go down in the roots and get some exc. mats to provide their guild, absolutely no risk

with non-permanent off switch:
practically same as above, only without the secondary chars or forcing people to stay away from pvp forever

without off switch: attacking guild has to keep on their toes in the roots and defending guild has the possibilities to hinder the attacking one from stocking up

Think of it this way. There's a huge football pitch and surrounding grounds just down the road that people go to play football. When people aren't playing football, anyone can use the pitch for whatever they like with impunity. When people *are* playing football on it, the people who aren't playing are free to join in or go over to the bits of the grounds that aren't being used for football. If the people who aren't playing stay on the pitch, they're gonna get hit, if they go off the pitch they might get hit with the ball every now and again but there's more than enough room for everyone. And if you hang with a tough crowd, maybe you can postpone the footballers game. Or keep an area of the grounds safe from being hit by the football. But the thing you must remember is that it's a football pitch. It's designed for people who enjoy that particular game to have fun. Why do you want to change the rules so that you can stand in the middle of their pitch, not playing the game and spoiling their fun?

PVP Zones will be initiated around the outposts in the event of conflict. If you don't want to fight, don't enter the zones on these ocassions.

You do realize you are defending the same company who is responsible for stating this
-The range weapons give a decisive advantage. There are still many
adjustments which should be done on theses weapons.
