I've been using X3D LCD shutter glasses and they work great with Ryzom. I have a BFG 5700 Ultra and I use driver version 61.77 and the 3d drivers are the same version (and they must be to work). Are you running Ryzom full screen in D3D? If not, then 3D may not work. You can probably render is OpenGL and it should still work, but you have to be in fullscreen to get 3D to turn on. I also have my 3D turned on via 'hot key'.

First, go to Guru3d.com and download a driver cleaner tool
like this one: http://downloads.guru3d.com/download.php?det=603
Second, uninstall your drivers. Do it from the control panel add/remove software utility.
Third, run the utility and remove all mentions of the drivers in question.
Fourth, reboot and cancel when autodetect hardware starts running and trying to help you install a driver.
Fifth, run the installation for the drivers.
Sixth, reboot.
Seventh, tell us how it went.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
You guys are obviously not reading what either myself or Raynes are saying.
First, what Raynes has said is that he is using the 61.77 stereo driver and using the 66.93 graphics driver, and that it's working.
Second, I've had my LCD shutter glasses for three years or so. When I first started using them, I knew that the drivers were supposed to match. But at that time, if I continued using the older drivers, I was going to miss out on new features. So I upgraded the graphics driver, and my glasses still worked.
I don't care what documentation says, there are times when an older stereo driver will still work with a newer graphics driver, and Raynes proves that. Period. I'm not a hardware, software, or driver newb here.
And finally, the problem I am currently having:
It is NOT that I cannot view *Ryzom* in stereo. It's that Stereo will not enable in the nVidia control panel AT ALL.
Here's what I did:
I installed the 61.77 stereo driver with my current 66.93 graphics driver. I clicked Enable in the nVidia control panel. Nothing happened. The test programs would not run, claiming it was disabled. Sure enough, if I went back to the main Stereo tab, the setting was "Disabled.
Next, I nuked all traces of any nVidia driver, and rebooted. I installed the 61.77 graphics driver. I then installed the 61.77 stereo driver. SAME EXACT RESULT. I could not enable it. Not that it wouldn't work in Ryzom. No, the problem is that it WILL NOT ENABLE AT ALL. I don't know how many times I have to say it before people quit treating me like a newb that doesn't know what he's doing.
I went to the website of the manufacturer of my glasses, and it is known that some people have had problems with the 61.77 driver, and they recommend trying the next previous version. I haven't, because nVidia has promised an updated stereo driver some time in the first quarter of this year. So I think I'll just wait, or use e-Dimensional's third party software until then.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
Did you run the driver cleaner after the uninstall though, or did you manually nuke everything nVidia related?
Did you try installing the same drivers that Raynes has got working instead of just the two latest?
Not knowing your level of expertise, as you seem to have left your IQ and the amount of computer mumbo-jumbo you've studied out of your initial post, I constructed my instructions so even a complete nub could read them. I call it, "being considerate." It's a neat concept.
Another tool that may help at the Guru3D website is RivaTuner. It allows access to many settings that you do not get with the detonator control panel. You should also try googling your particular model of stereo glasses, someone else out there may have had the same problem and might actually have the solution.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
I did read your post and I do not understand how someone got the 61.77 3d drivers to work with a different verions of gpu drivers. All I'm telling you is what I did and it works. If you read the documentation for the 3D drivers, nVidia clearly states you must use driver version 61.77 and 3d drivers 61.77. Like one of the other posters said, uninstall both the video and 3d drivers, run DriverCleaner to remove all traces of nVidia video and 3d drivers, reboot, install video drivers 61.77, reboot, install 3d drivers 61.77, reboot, then tell us what happens. I'm just trying to help. I err on the side of caution of and figure nVidia knows how to setup thier own hardware properly (ie matching video and 3d driver versions). I don't know what else I can tell. I did just that and mine work great.

Re: I'm simply in awe...
I just reread your post. If you have indeed installed both 61.77, one thing the caught me a couple of times was not hitting the apply button after clicking "Enabled by Hot Key". If you forget to do that then go to the Stereo Setup & Test screen, it will give you the "3D not enabled" message. I got burnt that way a few times. I'm assuming you are turning the 3D on via hot key. If that is the case, make sure your 'hot key' isn't in use by something else in game. I use "Shift + ` " (which is the ~) since it is free in the games I play. Also, just curious what kind of card you have? I'm running an 5700 Ultra and I render Ryzom in DirectX/D3D vice OpenGL.

I did try Enabled by Hotkey, and that wouldn't work either.jcguid wrote:I just reread your post. I'll just wait for nVidia's update. It's not terribly important anyway.
I'll just be happy to be playing Ryzom on my new 6800 GT. *points at the updated Winners lists*

Lol you win a lore-related competition after complaining about having to go to the website to find out the lore which isn't the game xDraynes wrote:HOLY COW I WON! Does a grand happy dance!
btw, I won one of the cards as well, so this isn't me being bitter or jealous, I just find it amusing
Re: I'm simply in awe...
FYI:
nVidia has updated their Forceware graphics driver to version 71.84.
The stereo driver is also updated to 71.84 at this time.
