"Please Wait" Box that won't go away

Hopefully someone else is having this problem and can help me out.

I have my router configured for Ryzom (the 10 minute disconnect issue), but I still sometimes get the "Please Wait" box that won't go away. It seems to come in spurts. Some days I can log on and play for a few hours uninterupted. Other days, I play for 30 minutes then I get the "Please Wait" box that won't go away. If I quit the client, then log back in all is fine again. Sometimes though, it keeps happening over and over until I finally get fed up and quit playing for the day. Has anyone else has this problem? Is it something on my end or is this a server problem?

its the please wait box of lag................I think your just losing your connection to be honest. it happens from time to time but usually it means the server is slow or you connection has failed

In my experience and that of other guildies, it's been both, connection issues on our end, or the server crashing. If it's the server crashing, you will know by logging into the Klients chat support.

Then explain this please. If it is a server problem why can I talk to a person on the phone who is playing the game, sees me frozen in game while I have the plaese wait box?? I never disapear untile I hit quit game. I can stand ther for 10 inutes talking to the person on the phone who sees me and is waiting for me to become active again.

So why does that happen??

Really not sure, I don't know much about this kind of stuff, but one of my guildies has this sort of problem and it's because she plays on a wireless connection and is not the most reliable when playing online games.

the client is designed so that only if the server crashes, you get a disconnect.

if your internet connections should fail, or somewhere along the network line between your box and the ryzom server boxes, something should disconnect, the client puts itself into a "limbo" and waits to be resynched with the server when the connection is re-established.

If you get a please wait with a disconnect, the server has gone down. If you receive a please wait but no disconnects, the problem is between your machine and the server, most likely your internet connection.

if you can determine it's your internet connection, by running a long term ping to check for packet loss to various domains (yahoo.com, google.com, ryzom.com to name a few), it's best you contact your internet service provider and see what that will do about the packet loss.

Windows I believe is: ping -n 1000 google.com
Linux is just: ping google.com

It's not my connection. It must be breaking somewhere between me and the server. But still, why own't it eventually reconnect when it picks up the sync again? It's really starting to bug me....grr....

I just joined the game (actaully, I bought it a while ago.. played for a few hours and got into something else).

However... I really wanted to give it a go again because it seems different than other MMO's on the market.

I suppose I will post a noob impressions post and ask for help etc, but I too am having problems with this "Please wait" box. I tried the solution that someone else posted (with that URL) but not only do I not know what that is, I also couldn't get in using "admin" as the password.

In any case... I am always getting that box and not connecting again. I then restart and it is fine for another 30 minutes.

Since this is the only online game that I get this with I wonder if there is something with their servers or software? Nowhere else have I had this problem.

If it was once in every hour I might be able to deal but it seems it's within a 30 minute time period.

help?

Edit:

I wrote Technical support (still waiting) and brought up a window ingame that indicates connection status.. it never says anything about lost packets "0" lost but does indicate Server State "FS lost". Also.. my Ping is 170 so that seems a bit high..

Ok. I figured out what that other poster was talking about regarding forwarding the port.. it is my router.. since I didn't set it up I will ask the person who did what the password is. Maybe that will help as it is also a Lynksys router.
