Neun's How to Heal guide:

1. Find a team.
2. If any of the team members consistantly endanger the team .... go for a swim and ask them to stop. (eg A caster pulling in a team will 2 tanks, cas its all a bit slow, really makes me through the rattle outa the pram!)
3. Find a nice safe spot ... with an escape plan :P
4. Find the most comfy position possible ..... you will not need to move from the position (except for ciggy breaks...etc)
5. Open the team window.
6. Program the following keys 8=HP, 9=SAP, 0=Stam (order is important it matches the order of the bars in the team window!) for the 100+ healers with double spells 6=HP+Sap, 7 =HP+Stam. These should be setup with credits just covered by you regen rate!
7. move the team window into the center of the screen .... its the only thing you will be looking at for the next few hours!
8. using you mouse hover over the team window.

Now you are ready!

This is a sub game with in Ryzom........

Tell the party you are ready.....

The object of the game is never to let any of the bars fall to zero, or to ever make the bars go over the max!

If you are a dedicated healer to a mad caster select them and select follow. You now only need to use the movement keys if you get stuck on the landscape!

I used the team window method to get to 85 in heal with no problem.

I used the follow caster method to get to 106 ..... (yep 21 lvls running around after a mad caster!!!!!)

Guess what I am still level 106 in heal!

I now heal outa team or between rounds. I spend time when hunting studying the HP/SAP/STAM usage of the other members when tanking I pull only if the team can last the fight (some spare for adds) or when all members are full.

At 50-65 I could support an entire team with little to no down time. In extended fight I would drain and need healing ... we rarely got wiped and if we did I would ususally be the one to spawn and rescue.

Not sure if this helps ... its not the most fun thing .... but its dam effective!

You can move the teamwindow up a bit and look at the mobs too :-)
I can play this game for about an hour or an hour and a half and then I am exhausted. But maybe if I play it more, and pay less attention to chat / mobs, I can keep up longer....

My experience is that 2 good healers like the ones I mentioned above can keep up a team that exceeds their lvl with a 1.5 factor where there are two tanks/magicians per healer, so a team of 6 with lvl 90~100 tanks/healers can be supported by 2 60~65 healers.

I have found, in Matis at least (as understandably thats where I spend almost all my time, being Matis and all...), people are reluctant to be a healer because quite frankly, they're treat like slaves far too often.

A wannabe Avatar of Destruction or wannabe supertank gets it in their head that they want to go powerlevel, so they grab the nearest healer, and basically use them for gaining xp, rather than thinking of them as a valuable team member.

Its for reasons like this that I pretty much only ever hunt with my guildmates, because they're all decent people, who play for fun, not to get to 250 as fast as possible. To me, every member of a team is important, and on our guildhunts, no one finds themselves in a role that they do not want to be in. We have one primary healer, Kerridween, a Priest now, and she does a fantastic job of keeping me alive while i tank all manner of beasties for the guildhunts, but we also have a handful of others who can heal to a decent degree, who often take turns healing.

Its never happened yet, but if there was a time when no one wanted to heal on our Grove of Confusion hunts, the answer's simple: We'd go to Upper Bog and I would heal, hehe :)

Its a subject I have very strong opinions on, people using other people for xp. Not just healers, either. Hunting should be fun for everyone involved, and until everyone follows that guideline, I won't stop putting people in their place in hunting grounds all across Matis, hehe ;)

Incidentally, this shows more than any DPM summary why I'd argue that the healing line became relatively unbalanced with patch 1. (Actually, what I like is that a level 40 healer with a good amp/jewels/armor can keep up with damage and stam use on a 1-1 fight with 120-130ish level mobs.)

PL at your own risk. If you become bored and quit, can't say you weren't warned. :)

Maybe I should add that we are Evolution and we dont really have a shortage of gear for the healers, be it either amps, jewels or armor. The result is not so much an unbalanced skill (healing), but an unbalanced player.

I am a lvl61 healer and I have:
ql 200 light hp armor
ql 140~160 hp jewelset
ql68 amp with 100 healspeed/93 heal power

With my digginglvls this gets me about 2500hp. Now then you dont really worry about personal health anymore....

Must be some Matis issue :)

Sunday morning in Matis (My first day ever in Matris) Meet two melees on the road.
Asked them if i can join, since i dont know the landscape and the beasts (They have disarming, aggro birds there ;) Quite new for a Tryker first time in Matis)

Told them i would heal if they like. They invited me and told me that i am their new
Tryker slave ;) .

Well, anyway, it turned out to be a nice and successful day :)

Left top below my own bars. And it should be possibel to scale this window (or is it already scalable ?). Those tiny bars ruin my eyes after some hours. They really do although using a LCD.

To avoid eye strain.... take regular breaks (15min in every 1hr), don't play when tired, play in a well lit room..... Yer, Like any of this is every going to happen! (12:30am, 6am start for work, dark room, no sleep for a week and just coming to the end of a 3 hr straight sess! I am not an addict!)

I personally look for movement in the bars, rather than actual values. Means I can let my mind wander :P

I have come to the conclusion after last nights antics that healers are abused :(

LAst night had a couple eles leeching xp but when I suggested that Id like to get some xp on melee or ele they buggered off! I wasn't a happy bunny! All part of the game I guess. I dont mind just appreciate people to put in their fair share! All this makes people reluctant to heal which is not good! Hmmm think I shall to change this...gl i hear you whisper lol!
Devious way is to let drop those who dont appreciate you....but this is a bit nasty and ott!

Did party last night with snake which was very refreshing, sharing materials with me - no other has done this! Made healing enjoyable :)

Thanks to those who help save me last night!

So true! Almost like harvesting, also a nice subgame, with bars! I love subgames with bars! Bars are good! Bars are nice! All I see ... is ... bars ... bars ... bars ... the bars ... the bars ... they haunt me ...
