The Q&A

Post by systemv »

Just read it and I'm pretty dissapointed.

Dodged all the important questions about where they were taking the story and events and basically talked about bug fixes they're currently working on.

Novels won't help my enjoyment of the story in-game. Acknowledge the problem and give us an answer :|

Also where's that Outpost article we were promised this week?

What will be the next publications on the Gamelore section of the Website ?

Currently, a serie of novels on the Ryzom universe is being written in collaboration with Alexis Aubenque, a famous French science-fiction author (if you read French, he published "La Chute des Mondes" and Etat de Guerre).
Ok this answer pissed me off so bad. Here we are in a game that is suppose to be telling the story of the Saga of Ryzom over 8 years. Now your telling us that some writer is in the process of writing the Saga of Ryzom which basically means no story exists yet. So for the past 6 month Nevrax has been yanking our chains with BS about a story. It's no wonder is completly absent in game.

I can tell you right now that I won't be buying any such novels. I currently pay $15.00 a month and expect to be told a story in game. That is why I am playing this otherwise average game. Dark and Light comes out in April, after reading this there is little chance I will stay with this game for years while they get around to actually producing the story they have promised all along.

Talk about disappointment.

yes it is!!! it is engraned in us And the modern Japanese. i say this because we as a people are told a time Frame and Expect it at that time if not people lose their jobs..

As a small child i was told that i had to be outside of school at a specifc times and if i was not there i would get a lecture because of my parents Jobs...

and in turn id bet if you went to school (i use school because one is not paid to go there) if suddenly u were told that the school day was being extended u would prabally be upset..

in the Modern working world which many of us are of this age if we are not done with a Report or the work we are suppoed to Do out bosses get on to us......

another example if you were buying a New house and you were ready to move in and all the papers were signed and yourmoving truck was in front of your new house but either the Family that lived there said five us a Few min and we will be ready to leave and u waited 3 weeks would u not be mad??? or if u drove across county to get into your newly built house "that the Contractor said was ready and u get there and the Roof was not on the house and he then said that it would be anoter 6 weeks? would u not be mad?

I am a Southern American (yes things move a little slow here) but Belated Promises and slow application Make tis Game Moooooooovvvvvvvvvveeeeeee Waaaaaaaayyyyyyy toooooooooo Slow!

so fryx amercans are impatient we like our wemen(for us only),cars, food, and yes Games to all move at good Fast pace!!

i have worked in a Printing company so the misPrint on info could have been solved by a flyer but it not excused the misrepenzetation of current game content.

i read info for 3 weeks Before i bought the Box at ebgame who nolong have the game on there Sellable files,,,,,

as have many other in Ryzoms where to Buy files

I was told that i Bought a Monsterburger

Be patient? I've been patient 6 months. Two things have kept me going. The first is the fame system. Yes, I know it doesn't mean anything now but it still gave me a goal to work for. Now with this Q&A it's been pretty much confimed that it will never amount to anything that ties strongly into game play. The other is the story and we have just been told that they have some guy writing novels. Well good Novels don't take a month to complete, they take years. Not only that but novel are not gameplay. This Q&A accomplished something I have been fighting for 3 months now, giving up on this game. I want a game where as I am playing it, I am learning more about the world I am in. I want to be able to go in game, do something and uncover answers, all the while creating more questions. I want a game that has mysetious elements that are so mysterious that they make you want to log in everyday on the chance of learning more.

My subscription end March 29th. I have decided today that I won't be renewing. There are just too many games out there where the missions and npc's have meaning, there are people actually roleplaying, and at least offer some story in game.

I can empathize, Raynes. I've only been here a month but I'm already getting frustrated looking at all the potential this game has.

This game is a hole that great ideas crawled half-way out of; it has unprecedented promise coupled with epic lapses in technical execution.

I will give it 6 months as well. It's unfortunate your 6 months comes right at a time where real content seems to be just around the corner... but judging from your previous posts that sentiment must have been felt at the game's release as well.

I am sorry Raynes, my comments was about the Q&A promised and the Outpost articles, nothing else.

But yes, do stop playing (or better, take a break and check out the game in a few months). Don't keep paining yourself and keep on doing something you don't like. That's just not smurt :D
