First of all - thank you Lawrence for announcing the winners & bringing it up to date.
Now. The hard bit. I had an offline friend visiting this morning while I was reading the forum. He gave me a bit of stick about the poor response to my thread about the late results & then was critical of the lack of response in general to the topics. As a result, we had a little bet that I couldn't get views past 500 by midnight tonight. Not a monetary bet I might add but a liquid refreshment type of bet.
I took him on and started responding to the replies in an aggressive manner which I use only on special occasions.
I also started a new thread which was controversial to compare the interest between the two. My thread on patches was closed down a couple of hours after its start but currently has 235 hits & 20 odd replies.
My thread in which I was particularly aggressive shot past the 500 mark in about 6 hours.
In contrast I also started a nice gentle thread which is steadily plodding along but nowhere near to the response the other two generated.
It has now been confirmed by my friend that SoR does in fact have a very active forum community when the need arises and that my very needed liquid refreshment will be forthcoming very, very soon.
I firstly wish to aplogise for the tone of my comments to those who participated in the discussion (but not necessarily the content) but also wish to thank you for your invaluable contributions.
If I've made any more enemies then I'll just have to put up with it. I will think of you tomorrow in the pub when I spend a free night drinking (if I remember that is).
Keep up the good work.
Alyssah.

Re: A thank you & apology from Alyssah
Now, was it really necessary to use this forum as a test bed for your ideas? Though I appreciate the thought of free beverages
, imagine if the dev team did something similar with your character?
"Lets see how far we can get Allssah to run in order to get a special item that no-one else but her knows about. We can tell her that if she asks for help or tells anyone else she won't get this wonderful prize!"
Playing with other people is great, playing at the expense of other people is not.
Apology accepted as far as I'm concerned. No real harm done I suppose.
But no more of this!

Re: A thank you & apology from Alyssah
I actually found the patch thread interesting (if not an entirely apples to apples comparison and even if the tone wasn't very nice) and was sorry to see it removed.
I also think that if policy is to remove or move threads comparing Ryzom to other games, it should be applied equally to such threads like "Do not leave Ryzom for WoW!". Neither is on topic.

I dont see the point in playing a troll - it just costs a lot of sympathy and credibility. Well - you decide how many of ur latest post are worth getting paid for - with beer or whatever.

No excuse for that - apology or not - dont waste peoples time or question others actions or reactions just because of a whim

Re: A thank you & apology from Alyssah
Initially I was defending Ryzom as being a slow moving forum. But as it progressed I really started to get into it. Most of my replies were genuine, it was the tone that was slightly over the top. That was what my apology was for.
It was really interesting to see the motivation behind stimulating almost 1,000 hits in less than a day. My nice, easy going article plodded along but aggression & controversy really hit the spot. So much so that I'm now wondering if there is room for a Guild that is really evil. The 'we don't give a fig' guild or something similar.
Any thoughts on that???

Re: A thank you & apology from Alyssah
You mean DCP aren't truely evil? I was sure, what with all the rumours.........
I AM only kidding! No offence DCP!
I think there's always room for an evil guild. The only problem is it will alienate you from the rest of the players. I think the best evil guilds are ones that are tough to pin down (like DCP! I'm kidding, ok! It's a running joke! Everyone I've personally met from DCP has been lovely!). Guilds that support fanatically one way or the other can be termed as "evil" for example.

Because you're a bunch of terrorising, tyrannical evil-doers... Ooops I'm kidding too, hi Catfud
PS archerke - is that your in-game name? And if not, why isn't your in-game name above your 'proud member of DCP' proclamation? Hmmm?
I think a truly evil guild will have some big problems playing Ryzom, but with the right players it could possibly work out. I mean, we've already have several threads caused by different kinds of 'incidents' (see joke references above...), and the reason for that (I believe), comes from several sources. One of them being time - if a player doesn't have much time to play the game, and they become the target of an 'evil incident', they may feel their time has been wasted (what little they have), and be offended by this 'evil action'.
We are all vastly different personalities, and react very differently depending on the situation/weather/mood/colour of socks being worn. You can have a joke with friends face-to-face, but that's very different to exchanging text chat using fantasy avatars, possibly with someone who's english isn't very good, and who's temper is a little short
Evil Guild = difficult challenge indeed
(Damn I can ramble on sometimes...)
