The Recovered Book of Revelation

Post by alibasil »

Yesterday evening a few Zorai were alerted to the shouts of another reqesting help that only the brave and courageous could fulfill.

Alibooma and Lienchang searched through Zora to find the source of these calls. Within a few minutes of searching they found an elected Zorai called Baijimao. This Zorai had been requested by Mabreka to recover the lost book of revelation with the aid of the Zorai people and Ma-Duk.

Alibooma and Lienchang sat and listened to Baijimao as he told them the significance of this book and how it was hidden by sages during the Kitin invasion years ago. However they were not the only homins that Baijimao had the attention of. Kye, another zorai with great power and knowledge of atys was listening from afar. Soon he was drawn in by the strangers tale.

Baijimao told them how the book of revelation had secrets long forgotten detailing how the Zorai race became. He added that it would be of great importance to retrieve the book in time for the Zorai new year, and how Ma-Duk and the Kami would be eternally grateful for this gesture.

Upon hearing this Alibooma, Lienchang and Kye immediately requested to assist on this epic pilgrimage. As they went to equip themselves for the journey ahead, others joined their group. These brave homins were Ghuiss, Echos, Henamot, Bijam, and Wintermute.

Together this band of Zorai travelled past the borders of Witherings into the burning desert. A perilous journey I'm sure you agree as the kitin were dotted all along the path. A journey that was once taken by the sages of old.

The book was soon found in the burning desert hidden under some debris and contained in a sealed urn. The urn was smashed open- which may have at the time been a foolish decision- but nevertheless was taken!

Upon returning to Witherings the group were attacked by the kitin again. Unfortunately the book was damaged upon recieving a deep scar into the izam leather bound cover. Had it remained sealed in the urn it could have remained in tact.

The book is now being held in the Zorai Palace under the watchful eye of the chief guard in Zora. It has been restored to a good condition by a team of specialist merchants who used a more durable ragus leather to bind it.

Tonight we shall unfold parts of our history during the Zorai new year as the book is opened for the first time.

Totally OOC: I'd just like to say that I think this is fantastic. It's this sort of event that makes heroes, not titles and equipment. More! More! Encore! And gratz to those who took part.

IC: I am once more perturbed by the increasing tendacy of the higher powers to draw homins into choosing sides. My eyes are open to this. I will continue to observe and take note.

How many times must I have passed by the ruins scattered around the Burning Desert without a second glance? Perhaps I was distracted by the glorious sunsets - where the heat from the ground distorts the last few rays of our sun. Or maybe it was the freshly grown skin of Atys that drew my eye away, smooth and untouched by picks - ripe for harvest?

Who can tell what other treasures are hidden in my native lands and further afield. The value of these lost artifacts in terms of dapper boggles the mind, and to the more devout I cannot even begin to imagine their worth. I commend you Alibooma, for you are either a great seeker of fortune or have the luck of a thousand thieves! But I also curse you, for everywhere I go I must now keep an eye open for cracked urns, dusty pots and worn chests...

Hehe thankyou Rashan for your commendation.

I admit a great fortune lied in that urn and ultimately in our hands. However with great fortune came great uncertainty. If you had found the prophesised bounty- would you entirely trust those travelling you? Thankfully the intentions of those who travelled with me were of good merit.

Also a bounty like this can break a Homin. Knowing that the ultimate survival of it relies on you and that bandits would happily slit your throat for a piece of the bounty can do funny things to the mind. Thankfully the well trained zorai minds of our group were strong enough to overcome evil and now the book is under high security within the Zora Palace.

As for your quest of glorified wealth Rashan. All i can say is, yes there will certainly be more hidden artifacts and treasures out there.

However my warning to you- with this bounty comes the pressures i mentioned before. Yet also dont be fooled by the street urchins and pick-pockets of your capital- they will double-cross and you will be left with little. The officials will always give a bigger bounty.
