I think that's quite a 'small' thing to be saying.
There is a massive difference between the likes of Sony and Vivendi and the smaller producers.

My experience isn't in the computer games field but it draws parallels with those businesses I do know more about. The smaller companies have more heart, more innovation and less corporate... 'bodoc excrement'... than the larger ones. What you think you know about game developers is only really true about the large ones. While they have shareholders and investors who, yes, they do have to placate I doubt there's any great deal of obfuscation of the truth going on here and having a liason is a step in the right direction.

All the US forums ever seem to do is whinge and tear down anything positive that comes along.

We have a liason - they're listening.
We have dates for new content and an explanation of why things have gone wrong - no, more than that, an ADMISSION that things have gone wrong.

If you guys put as much effort into making this game better for each other as you did in whining and attacking each other you wouldn't have half these complaints.

Run your own events, pore over the background and make your own fun, that's part of the joy of ryzom, not being spoon fed.

These are the questions asked a great number of times in to many posts to start asking them again. If no one has answerd them properly yet I dont beleive they ever will.

If you all think that adding a liason is a step in the right direction then you dont know a pacifier when you see one.

This game has potential but that potential is being wasted. If you think that their first priority is to get the game up and running you are wrong. The first priority now is to keep the custumers from leaving. The pattern of actions taken by this company are those of desperation not direction.

I don't know what their problems are nor do I care. They have been hiding their incompetance behind a corporate screen for a long time but, that screen will only hide so much for so long. This is a do or die time for them. Make no mistake about that. Do not fool yourself into thinking that everything is fine. There is no need for a liason when every thing is fine.

So now we know that they want to have outposts on ATS in 4-6 weeks, that's not news... that's simply a number placed on what we already knew.

So would you prefer not to have a number placed on it? I always hear people asking for an estimate and i want to know that too. It was just given, but you ignored that part as helpful (at least that's how you came across).

It's not information though, we still don't know anything about outposts.

I beg to differ. Not having a liason is a great way for something that is fine to become no longer fine. A public liason is VERY important no matter what the condition is. Yes, if everything is fine the liason does not seem as necessary but w/o them it is not good.

This sounds like the stuff I wrote about six months ago when I beleived what they were saying. I dont know who you are but we are paying for a product and the fantasy ends when we stop playing. If you like to live in a lets pretend world that is so very nice. But I will beleive what I see not what they say. Talk is cheap. Well not your talk. You like to use those five dollar words. A liason is a placater and the obfuscation is in your view of this game.

You can be negative and shoot everything down, you can wait to be spoonfed or you can get off your gluteous maximus and set about making it better yourself while you wait for those things, rather than relieving yourself into people's breakfast cereal.

What more would you like me to do. I play the game as is. I do the missions as they are. We hunt the bosses. We go on trips. Hell we even have forage and explore partys. But there comes a time when you get tired of preparing and waiting for parts of the game that do not come. Your problem is not me or what I say. Your problem is that what Ive said is true and you dont want to beleive it. You realy dont know me at all. If you did you would know that I like this game and I dont realy want to leave. I just dont like to be lied to or cheated. Thats what my problem is.

I believe the difference here is that Xavier is a Nevrax employee working directly at their facilities in France with the development team. Cerest does a great job but I'm sure is not always in a position to get the information we're asking for. It sounds like Xavier will be in a position to get the inside information we've been seeking. We just need to give him a little time to get going in his new role.

do you think they just sent things to support@nevrax.com and hoped someone read it? Xavier tells us in his own hello post that we still need to have everything go through Cerest and the rest of the support staff... nothing has changed except "someone at nevrax" is now "Xavier".

Like we have a choice.

You do have a choice. You can wait, or you can not wait and just find another game(or not find another game if you so choose). You always have a choice, your choices just have consequences. If you don't like the consequences of the choice you made, you either learn to deal with them or change them. But no amount of whining or complaining will expediate your waiting if you choose to do so, so why do it? If you can't stop complaining and deal with it, then just leave.

Constructive criticism is one thing, but I have yet to see any helpful ideas flow from this thread. Simply a waste of your time, and time is something you can't get back.
