half the contests are so insanely easy u need to have the answer ready before they ask for the answer to make a chance, and just type enter as fast as possible once u can give answers...
i know for a fact someone that gave the correct answer 2 seconds (logs)after you could, and i doubt he'll get better than a mousemat. winners havent been published yet (was EU contest 16 feb)

Its foul, period.
When the winners have been selected, the system tells you its to late, not in those words, but it states the the contest is closed and the winners have already been selected.

In this case, on my screen, the question popped, spead read the question, typed in the answer, and submitted it.

Between the time in my Contest window, to the time I answered it, was in seconds, the time from when I answered it to the time it closed was 18 seconds more, so sue me, I have a hot timer for chess next to me, and I wacked the thing as soon as I saw the question, answered it, and watched for the close in anticipation.

They have to be fair to every participant, but, there not.

If what you are saying is correct about others complaining about lag between the question and the posted answers, along with the fact the system tells you that you are one of the ones who answered correctly, then yes, Nervax should do something about this.

Do I feel robbed, yes, should I based on how the system is setup, and the fact it TOLD me that I answered correctly, not only that, I did it within the time from open to close and did not answer outside of the window and the system stated that I did answer correctly.

A contest system is extremely easy to program, and the answers posted are just as easy to accept and kill any inbound, lag or no lag, its a server side component, not client side, they would never put it client side to guarantee no one cheats.

Lag or not, the answers from the players hit the server through the client, then the server determines if they are within the 11 winners, if they are not, it kicks them back stating that the winners have already been selected.

It will even do this before the contest is closed, from all I can tell at this point, it only accepts 11 winners, the lag between the final winner and the close does not determine if you are kicked back with an already winners selected statement.

Its done, its over with, and as far as I can tell, based on when the question posted and I answered, I should have and probably did win a card.

BUT this is a GM's decision or a CSR's decision, not mine.

Like you all said, there game, there contest, there rules, they can give it out to there friends and neighbors if they want.
For those who know about today, I have a supprise for you tomorrow.

I won :)

Too bad they can't ship it to japan, I even asked a GM one time on Klients if they would...he said yeah... :( Ah well, good thing I got family in the states to ship it to me...

BTW... just FYI...

They ship ONLY to the states and NO P.O. BOXES... Now why they could not send it to an FPO/AP address is beyond my reasoning...

They don't only ship to the States, they ship all over europe, what about the other 3 servers?

Those are IN europe, so are the players, actually the players are around the world, but the reason why they probably won't ship to you is the fact your in a military base.

Or atleast I thought you were.

Hi,

Hopefully I can help with a few concerns in here.

First, there is no need to tell anyone to shut up. Some people have conerns and are free to express those concerns.

Shipping to PO Boxes or outside certain areas in North America: Unfortunately the laws in some countries prevent us from shipping prizes outside the U.S. and most of Canada. Our contest is strictly North America based and governed by laws related to countries within. You may want to talk to your state / province or federal government if there is an issue with you getting a prize. Quebec is unfortunately one of the provinces in Canada to which we cannot deliver a 'prize'.

Japan is another country to which we cannot deliver a prize.

P.O. Boxes are a whole other issue. The main prizes have to be insured and in most cases signed. Also, most shipping companies, USPS not included, do not ship to P.O. Boxes.

The other three servers do contests related to their countries and areas, governed by laws in their areas. However, if we get a winner in a country that is covered by one of the other servers, and also covered by the laws, we will be happy to deliver a prize to them as well.

"The contest is rigged!":

No, the contest is not rigged. I have personally watched the numbers and it is absolutely possible to have 30 correct answers within 3 seconds with everyone being milliseconds apart. It is possible to have 10 answers in 1 second and then another 10 15 seconds later. I am sure there are a lot of people that feel they should have been first, or even tenth, but you can't all be right, can you? There can only be one first answer and one tenth answer.

The contest will accept up to 30 answers, or go by a time limit before it ends. The first eligible 11 are winners. You could be #25 and still not see a message saying the contest is done.

I can accept any challenge with proof of foul play. A feeling you answered before others is not proof of foul play, it is just a thought of being just as fast as 11 other people or a hair slower.

Nothing is rigged, and it wouldn't help us one bit to rig anything.

Regards,

Thank you Fadin, this explains a lot. I was just in the top 30 and not top 11. :p

The contest will accept up to 30 answers

Thanks for clerifing this, in the begining it was stated that the contest would only accept the first 11 answers and would close, which was a misinterpretation or misrepresentation of the facts.

I can accept it telling me I was correct, and that it accepts 30 correct responses, that makes sense, but it didn't make sense based on the information about the contest that we were all given in the begining.
For those who know about today, I have a supprise for you tomorrow.
