45 minutes later and i have read all 7 pages of this post, and nothing of the other new posts on the forums. its 12:45am and I really want to get some sleep.
In 3 days I am working 72 hours flat on a 3 million dollar infrastructure; and now i am currently spec'ing up a $100,000 side project to complete in the weeks after.
I am Australian (Sydney) Gleno in game and member of DCP (4-5 weeks)
Due to my projects and training I have also starting my time in Ryzom is very limited. I try to log in most nights, and at least keep at my Fame missions.
I have been on from the begging, and as much as I would love to spend 23 hours a day on Ryzom (1 hour sleep should be fine) I have a job, a mortage, a finance' and basically a life. So I try to give this game 10+ hours a week.
Ok so I have both bored and lost you as to why i wrote that and how this all relates to this 7 (maybe 8?) page thread...
Simple - I have been in 4 guilds in this game:
Defenders of Pyr (Fyros Char)
United kingdom Mercenaries (Disvolved while on Holiday - Fyros Char)
Divine Council of Pyr (Fyros - Current)
Evolution (Tryker Char - Deleted)
I am not a HIGH level player, not a LOW level player:
106 Forage, 102 Heal, 95 Melee, 74 Elemental, 68 Melee Craft, 60 Armour Craft, 55 Def Affliction, 54 Off Affliction
I spend from level 51 - 106 in DYRON digging... in that time i got killed ONCE by a "pulled" mob - but was rezzed before i knew what happened.
I have also been killed digging next to Kami when a cute Nettled Knicher decided to chase a Ploderus only to see me and think I tasted better.
Thesos I also dig at, but dont make weapons so the Oath Bark goes to waste in my Amps - but YES I not only harvest right up close to Ocyx & Varinx - I actually get warned by people to be careful as i am very close to the Mobs.
And although at Thesos I have not yet experienced a "pulled" mob, I have done dumb things like Rez someone else then amongs all the Timari and Arana's punched one with my amp, then cause a mass agrro frenzy from the Ploderus's.
People die left right and center, run to the lake, some take them on, basic havoc breaks out - and what happens to me?
Well other then dying and being rezzed, in response to my "opps i just punched it by mistake" only postive things like "lol it happens m8" etc
MY most frustrating experience in this games with other players are the ones who are AFK and you dont know this and you try talking to them, or worse you die next to them, they dont get attacked, but they are not even there to rez you, and they are standing up so its hard to tell if they are snobs or AFK - I also think its AFK.
I could start commenting on every little post and sub topic raised in this thread, but I wont.
People who read this, as an "Average" player - I want you all to know, we all have our moments, we have all done dumb things... "...thinks about pulling Dune Stalkers onto Noobs, because 3 Bayings ganged me while doing the Dune Stalker mission for fame, even though i get no XP even from Baying.. I made it to safetly, noobs harvesting at main gates died...."
I ran out and rezzed them in that case....
We al have REAL LIVES too, so if something has happened in RL our mood might be amplfied negativily in-game....
oh and finally... in-game... GAME!!!

Unless i have missed something, Ryzom can not be WON, there is no END, there is no GRAND PRIZE (1 million pounds???

You can team, you can solo, you can grind.
As mentioned above I have made the 95 melee mark - yet at 76xp for Scary Goari - I still get killed by baying goari sometimes which give NO xp (those critical lightning claw attacks for 500+ HP hurt!)
I get DP, I laught, I work DP off.

Ok, so if you bothered to come back to this thread, and even better read my post, and to this point too - then thanks.
No one owns anything, no one pulls mobs onto people for the sick pleasure of watching them dye, anyone running to a lake with or without a INC or RUN message is usally about to die anyway... peeps who can stand there and laugh as a Fearsome Varinx or Ocyx lays into them dont run, they stand there and laught... they shout out something like "hahah they dont even hurt me, as my regen recovers what damage is done before the next hit" (Show off level 250 Melee's
)
And incase you didnt notice - we have 4-5 minute dead time, not the old 60-90 seconds - so go take a piss, grab a drink, someone will come and rez you.
