If they stick by the original timescale, chapter 3 (With its new race & land & skills) comes out in less than 40days Whether or not it will is anyone's guess.

I guess it won't. This may be just a guess, but I'd give 100:1 odds on it.

I wouldn't touch that bet with a Ten Foot Lance.
New Race and Land seem kind of not really neccesary right now, especially in a game where everyone is spread out to Hell and Beyond as it is.
I've been trying to understand why this game has not been the level Mill that so many of the Other MMOs I've played have been (not counting UO), while, Very Much unlike Ultima Online, this is still a Level Oriented game there is a lot more flexibility than in most others. Raising one of the lower branches in a Skill CAN aid your more advanced path, and definately vice versa, while not removing the overall challenges, You merely create more options, can equip better gear, have access to better quartered parts, etc.
At this point I really enjoy what I am seeing, though I still think Digging Sucks, it's looking more and more like one of the most subtle, complex, and, yes, esoteric aspects of the game -- tieing this right into crafting (which I do find very enjoyable).
And maybe this is some of what appeals to me; That which WE bring to the game. As much as I don't like digging in the damn Dirt, I can see those who are good at it, are so because of what THEY have learned; how to, where to and WHEN to, as well as other aspects I really have no clue regarding. It looks much the same with Crafting, though, this may All may top out when formulas, and locations/times become more widely shared...
Still, I'm not sure of that.
The ability to create one's own actions provides opportunity for creativity, the vast expanses of Land, and varying terrain / weather, likely means there will be Foraging, and, thusly, crafting mysteries for some time to come.
It's refreshing, we'll see how long it lasts.

Though you are not wrong, I do not agree completely with this...timberbe wrote:Raising one of the lower branches in a Skill CAN aid your more advanced path, and definately vice versa, while not removing the overall challenges, You merely create more options, can equip better gear, have access to better quartered parts, etc.
One of the things that bothers me the most, even seeing it mentioned in the latest Dev interviews, is the misnomer about what raising others trees brings to the game.
What you're really doing when you have maxed a tree and forced to "level in others areas", is make up for lack of high level content. There is no TRUE gain by leveling another skilltree in the same branch to help your primary skill. It is and has always been one of my pet peeves, bothers me even more that the Dev's don't see this and use that flimsy excuse for those that have maxed a skilltree.
Regardless which tree you specialize in, you will not be better at it by raising another skill in the same tree. You will not have more HP, Stamina, Sap or Focus. You can level all the Harvesting trees to 250, and still never be able to use your highest skill with your limited focus. You can raise all your Magic trees to 250 and not have enough Sap to complete a battle with a boss mob of your level, solo or teamed you'll probably need a healer. A fighter will not have enough HP OR Stamina to fight same boss mob under same circumstances. Raising additional trees will NOT change this whatsoever, this is a major oversight IMHO.
Cross training will allow you to buy additional skills, but if your specializing you have all the skills you need. There should be a formula that rewards folks a percentage of sorts to their base based on additional skill inthe same tree, elsewise there is no true gain.

DT, I think you will agree that the game is clearly slanted towards grouping, and not soloing. This is one of the main reasons, that a boss mob is inaccessible at the level you would expect it to be solo. Do you have trouble at what ever level you are fighting mobs of a similar level?vguerin wrote:Regardless which tree you specialize in, you will not be better at it by raising another skill in the same tree. Have you tried foraging with Q250 light, and Q250 focus jewels with that uber, max dig? I know you have used a care planner, do you make it then with your focus? as a group?
I am usre there will be content for higher lvl players. The motion seems to be to deliver on the box, and then they will fulfill your needs I am sure. Don't you agree?

Re: So Chapter 3 =whats on the Box?
You missed the point entirely, there is no gain to your primary skill by crosstraining. When you reach level 250, nothing you do in another skilltree will increase your HP/Stam/Sap/Focus in your main tree, thus nothing to gain but killing time...marct wrote:DT, I think you will agree that the game is clearly slanted towards grouping, and not soloing.
