Raynes, if you are not going to be satisfied until your happy, then there will be many, many days when you are not satisfied.
On the other hand, if you are not going to be happy until you are satisfied, well then you stand a snow ball's chance that you may be able to achieve happiness on a more regular basis.
You can set up some filters:
1. dont expect people or organizations to always stay as they are, they change often
2. expectations can lead to dissappointment, especially when it is dependent upon others to fulfill them (see #1)
3. the secert of the power to change is not that others change so you be happy, but that you change only what you have the ability to change
4. oh and remember to filter out the unimportant stuff as soon as you can
5. and from Ursula K. Le Guin a quote i like to think about when i feel like fighting an up hill battle "to oppose something is to maintain it"
you might find the game more tolerable and fun in this manner.
mind you these are only suggestions, far be it from me to tell you or anyone else what to do, it is just some things i picked up along the way of making many misjudgements and having many misperceptions of the world and my place in it.
Good Luck raynes
