Well actually, I have sent in a sugg. ticket a while ago, suggesting a % limit depending on the item's quality

Limiting what one can charge will not make the problem go away (it'll just limit the damage), and there will always be complaints about overcharging as long as prices are allowed to vary.

So I feel that the only way to combat this is simply for everyone to be aware that yes it does happen, and to always check goods over before buying.

the merchants aren't meant to serve as storage (mektoubs, appartments, guild hall)
As was said in a NA thread (CSR or a word from a dev, I forgot which), it is not against any rules to use merchants as storage.
