Are you saying you've been in the oasis since retail Kost?
Mind you, that may have since changed as that was at least a month ago that we went down there.
It sure has changed :-/ There is categorically no gap now.

However, due to my amazing skill and cunning, anyone who wants to have a peek inside the oasis may now do so:

I have that spawn. I was escorted by guildmates that were "rather handy with weapons" (high enough level I was not getting 3k xp for anything in the canyon near Dyron (which is the route they took).

They fought our way there...most of the way, I think we skittered once or twice. We had a few REALLY close calls, I died more than I care to count, thank goodness for rezz ins (DP is nothing, where I died would have been HARD to get back to).

My escorts were over 200 fighter/healers, if I had to guess, I am more than certain that they were WELL over 150, I would even say more than 175. I am used to grouping/healing fighters in the 100 to 160 range, and these guys were killing tough mobs MUCH faster than the groups I am used to.

I will log in, get to that spawn and then figure out exactly where (using triangulation and locations premapped) the exit/entrance I went to is. The spot we went to had LOTS of guards, about five of them. The fighter was GOOD, no great, he pulled one, when I swore it would be the pile of them. I died...twice, but my death was due to healing one of the fighters that had fallen (gaining me the FULL attention of one ANGRY mob), I didn't mind dying that fight. I was just glad I could raise them enough to hit self heal, then the others heal him, then me (the order was exactly right in my opinion, I couldn't paper cut the mob, much less hit it with a sword).

Keys I rememeber were, we went south from Dyron, NOT North from Thesos. I went the thesos route several times with one higher level fighter (160ish I think), good friend. That route takes you right into the path of several named Varynx I think (he called one of the mobs dog, and the other "kitty") one was ok, two killed him then me (him in three hits, me...over kill in one hit).

The Dyron trip is NOT a "safe route" just the route that two 185+ tanks, a 180+ healer, a 165+ fighter and an 80+ healer were able to successfully navigate and live.

I would NOT suggest this trip to any group under that listing to even try it, and solo...I would call it PURE suicide (unless you have a T1 or better, like fiber to premise).

Let's just say that getting THAT spawn spot...well I actually felt I did something that night. Next best was getting to the Kami near the fallen tree SOLO. I got GOOD at skittering...and dying. Eventually I figured out the right spots and the right timing, but anything could throw it off (food mob pathing in to draw agro got me more often than not).

There's a spawn very close to it that leads to the PR, guarded by an aggro NPC tribe. It's not actually in the oasis.

The spawn is just around the 'corner', if you follow the western tip of the canyon island, you'll end up just north of the Oasis entrance, on the other side of the island. The spawn is in a big cave (a lot bigger than the other caves mentioned)

Yes I've been in the Oasis since retail. Mind you there wasn't much ther. A big lake, a couple buildings, a big shiny thing, but nothing of any use. No portals or the like, and certainly no spawns. Couldn't even mind anything to forage.

There most certainly was a gap in those rocks at one point, even if there isn't now.

Ooooo Spriteh got a picture of the 'strange machine' :D Nice the Sprite! That's the thing that makes the strange noises - kind of like a small metal hut, with smoke coming out of it....

After reading this I am begining to wonder. Are there any real rewards for getting past big gaurds or killing bosses (that are a reasonable kill) in the game? I can see why some people are getting discouraged after a certain level.

I would have thought there was somthing up there. Even exelent mats that didnt disapear after the first pull would have been nice.

There is something up there :) We'll just have to wait until the story reveals it to us - if we uncovered all the juicy stuff now, we wouldn't have any surprises for later :)
