regarding skill reset....

Post by lordzren »

as it stands there is no way to reset skills which i can find...

would it be possible to add in the game up to lvl 30 on a skill you can buy back skills at will?

the first 30 levels we have all taken a skill we dont like... some have stuck with it some have remade.

if it was possible to buyback skills up to lvl 30 we could play around and get the feel of what type of skills we want to focus on and what ones we dont like.

past lvl 30 it should just be hard luck..

does this sound anygood? i know if you put this in it makes the game very easy and removes the risk of taking a skill but to start out with it woudnt hurt to give us abit of playing room ... would it?

if this is somthing people hate the idea with i will shut up as i love the game despite the fact i picked some skills i dont want :)

If I'd be offered that I'd buy back immediately 600 pts for jewelcrafting and become a battlemage in an instant. Once NPC vendors are introduced am gonna buy my jewelery anyway from then on

So PLEASE dont allow me to do this! ;)

In this case I support your idea, but only if its up to lvl 28 :D

Er..for real: A lvlborder doesn't makes much sense, because there are a good number of skills post-30 which are not terribly effective. If a relearn skills ability, than timebased and slow (like 1 skill/week).

Don´t think that would work.

Example: I leveled magic for the sole reason of buying Zora Craft-Skill (am Fyros) and basic harvesting. (50 pts each)

What would happen if I reseted magic now? Delete my whole Zora crafting? delete my whole foraging?

With the existance of overlapping skills (HP / Upgrades etc) it won´t be possible to reset a tree.

I think it would be best to reset skills individually since it is only up to level 30 that isnt very overpowered. Each 10skp you reset drops you a level in the skill and each time you delete a low ranking skill like Extraction1 it would take away extraction 2 (giving you back those points).

Or more simply: Only allow the resetting of skills that don't have dependants so that you'll hae to reset the highest level first and work your way down. Basically a way to remap your skills.

I've copied this over to the wishlist post btw!

Allowing this up to maybe level 25-30 wouldn't be bad, but it should only give back half credit to prevent the very things mentioned above. Too low a level to really benefit from killing your crafting tree to be a mage or whatever, but enough to fix newbie errors.
