Producer Daniel Miller and Event Manager Sabine Flier have been interviewed by the friendly folks over at MMHell.com. Besides a summary of the major features introduced with Chapter Two, they took the time to give an outlook on the future of Ryzom and to talk about in-game events. A good read and definitely worth a look!

Nevrax Interviews @ MMHell.com
Re: Nevrax Interviews @ MMHell.com
Saying nothing at all imho. The question about the other types of mount was simply evaded.
That outpost will be part of chapter 3 as will be guild quests (which are closely coupled with outpost) was known from the beginning of P2P (really have to find that post somewhere)
The only interesting sentence (for me) in there is :

All of this said, we are taking a particular look at the Trykers and at what can be done to improve their fun for the events to come.

I havent read the entire article, I will do so soon, but Sky's point is valid. Tryker make their own fun and as far as I know we live in the most harsh land on Atys. Hard mobs that are quite concentrated, lotsa dp to work on, hardened in our lives other lands seem a stroll on the beach, woods, hortus botanicus. And looking at the beachparty, fun is what you make of it.
The last event was the one about the kitin presence and some portal opening between Zorai and Fyros. If that one is talked about, please include the Matisian in the assumption they can't arrange their own fun.
The other event I can think of is the invasion and that had little to do with "Improving fun for Tryker". I think it has all to do with badly thought out choises from the dev that put the kitin in BB. Apart from the long walk, the heavy aggro in BB and the many lands progressing faster then we did, we fought like lion. Many maxed out dp, many came, regardless of lvl, regardless of guild.
What really made me angry, very very angry was the fact that we spend an entire evening and part of the night on time and we were actually planning to use some of the guilds dappers to buy more weapons, ONLY to find there was a Kipchuka spawn RIGHT IN THE MIDDLE of the first camp. All the guards were killed during the night! We had like 50 guys walking around in that camp! Killed by a STANDARD mob! Not even an event mob!
Now how hard is it to move a spawn? How hard is it to prevent this? So please dont talk about improving fun when one should be talking about improving quality assurance and research.
Now stepping into the other room to calm down.... (I get angry because I care, okee)

Good evasion on the mount question indeed! I'm impressed! Seriously, that's the sort of politician-esque answer that keeps secrets as they are meant to be. Good interview but very little given away further than what can be found in a short read through these forums.

Re: Nevrax Interviews @ MMHell.com
I think what was meant by Daniel Miller concerned the long swim from Windermeer to Bounty Beaches, and perhaps that the week-long event had much easier mobs for Fyros ( lvl 70 around Dyron ) instead of Tryker (lvl 180 in BB), thus being unbalanced.hans1976 wrote:I havent read the entire article, I will do so soon, but Sky's point is valid. Grtz,
However saying that Tryker are at a disadvantage because of the water, doesnt make sense. Each civilization has it advantages and disadvantages.
Some examples:
Matis don't have much water to run into when ur in trouble, but have 2 tickets to lvl 250 areas ( grove....)
Zorai can easily access high lvl areas from towns being at the border of the lvl 50 region (which is by the way nearly aggro-free as well) and have more water than Matis, but not much still.
Fyros imho are the most lucky of all. They only have 3 cities instead of 4 but 2 of them are located in lvl 150-200 areas, with water (almost perfect for lvling anything upto 200). Also having Oflovoks Oasis Kami TP gives them easy access to lvl 250 area ( Flaming Forest... ) Although they are located in the desert i believe they have better/more use for water than the Zorai (jungle) and Matis (forest)...
Tryker have a lot of water, which is great if you get into some trouble you will almost always be near some water to plunge into. Also it lets you travel 100% safely to all the cities. Downside is that water is slower than running. Not to mention harvesters have a great time especially when there is a 99% safe spot in a 250 region (Lagoons of Loria...) that is easy to get to if u don't mind dying once to get there.
My 2 cents

And the interview is just a summary of what changed in patch 2... can't wait for outposts though.. i can live with the bugs
