Some of you have expressed their wish to get more game-related questions answered.

In this forum thread, we would like to gather any game-related questions you may currently have. At the end of this week, we will compile the list and see if we can get you guys some answers from the relevant developers or artists at Nevrax.

We may not be able to get answers on all of your questions, but I will try to give you guys some explanation or background information in such cases.

Depending on your feedback, we may be organizing Q&A rounds more frequently in the future.

What would you like to know more about? Is there something we can perhaps add to the ryzom.com website? Any existing content that should be explained in greater detail?

The only question that is game mechanic related (oposed to bug / future / general information) is:

Can we get a rule of thumb what kind of fame the rite missions require, since the NPC won't tell us what the reason is they dont give a certain rite and I am tired of guessing if its my lvls, my fame or simply a bug.

First things first, thanks for trying to improve communication.

For the moment, I have just one question, but I think it's an important one, for some players seem to stick around waiting for them. Could you please elaborate on what are "outposts", in terms of gameplay? what will we be able to do with them. I wish outposts are someting more than another Guild-Hall, with a few NPCs like trainers and vendors spawned. In other words, could you detail the incoming features realted to outpots in a not-so-vague way?

- Where to download the gamemusic to use in movies?
- How do macro's work? Some details would be nice ;-)
- Why is the game instable for some and very stable for others?
- Why does OpenGL seem to be working better (high fps) then D3D? And why is the combination of ATI and OpenGL causing crashes / weird stuff with the overlays (probably caused by opacity)? But why does these problems not excist when running Linux with Wine, using openGL?
- When will a Mac / Linux version come?
- Fifth race? I heard someone say that somewhere.
- More lands?
- When will the bug be fixed that comes up when using angle4 with ranged4 (or up, dunno that one)?
- How to improve performance by editing (hacking) the config file?
- How to make files for my chatlogs and files that stay? One for each channel and new ones for each tell. I dont mind BIG files there, bought a new hdd for Ryzom (120Gb) and a mere 4,5 is used by Ryzom now.
- Are there any undiscovered eastereggs? (y/n answer is okee there)
- Outposts. When?
- When will npc guards stop attack each other on occasion?

Well, that is it for now, I will probably go on some other time ;-)

What is the 'Questions' section in the Support dialogue for? It says it is for 'gameplay related questions' but when I used it, all I got in reply was a CSR saying "we can't answer gameplay related questions" O_o

Oh and I'm guessing the answer to
- How to improve performance by editing (hacking) the config file?
Will be "We do not condone players editing the config files" or something along those lines...

I'm sure I'll think of something else later, but right now I have only one question.

Can you explain fame? Meaning a little more detail on how it works, how officer and member fame affects guild fame. How guild fame works. What amount of fame does a tribe start attacking. Amount of fame that you can get missions at. When will merchants stop selling to you.

Basically a full run down on fame. I know its complex, but some guidlines would be rather helpful and wouldn't spoil the story I don't think. Knowing what to do with your fame is very useful.

Yeah a fame explanation would be good and an answer to why when my Green Seed fame is in the 80's is my default action when clicking on a roaming Green Seed tribe 'attack'?! They are my friends!

Oh and is there a way to increase the draw distance and detail etc (I've maxxed it out in the GUI editor, but its still not streching my comp, it'd be nice to have 'insane' settings for those of us with powerful machines (though I appreciate it may create more lag)).

Here's some questions I'd like answered, but I think some may be difficult ones...

1. Expansions
What is the schedule for expansions? I ask this because there has been talk in the past about injections of major new content, supported by the fact that the loading screen says "1 - Atys" suggesting a number 2, 3 etc are in the pipeline. There has been mention of entire new planets and so forth, which needless to say is seriously drool-worthy :-)

2. Expansions to current lands/races
Are there plans to add further lands to Atys? This stems from a number of observations, such as the fact that the Nexus is actually Nexus Minor, suggesting there may be a "Nexus Major" for example. There have also been cryptic references in the past to a fifth race.

3. Fame based stuff
Will there be closer ties to the Kami/Karavan, such as the ability at some point to craft/wear Karavan armour or even visit the floating Karavan ships?

4. New features for guilds
Is there a schedule for some of the more overdue items such as outposts? Will the guild leader ever be any more than a figurehead, and will things such as defineable roles within a guild be implemented?

5. Will the Zorai ever take their masks off?
What are those sneaky blue folks hiding?

6. Where do babies come from?
Told you there'd be some tough questions...

Well there is a question (besides the ones above) that has kept me curious...

Where are Oba and Wormy?

I think the story with Oba, the bad shaman, is a very nice sidetrack and can keep us busy some time.

And now that I type it...

What is happening with the story?

One of the parts I loved in other MMO's was little story parts each month. Some missions to do for it, some small change because of them.
(Or big changes sometimes :D )

The events were cool. But I havent noticed any difference since then. Like some Kitins that still roam in BB, or in the PR. Or signs of dead Kitin in BB after the war... etc. Less Kitin in Atys for some time because we fought them...
