I play in the French community and I have read the whole of the original thread there. I support the aims of the original posters there.
The community for Ryzom is already small - the posters are making a valid point. They pay for the game "as advertised" and do not get it.
The generalisations about other MMOGs are not appropriate. I have refused to pay for other games because they failed to deliver on promised content and no-one but ardent 'FanBois' find half-assed games 'acceptable'.
Nobody noticed how quiet it's getting in game? I switched from the UK to the French server (yes - I started over with a new account) because the UK server was dead. My French is improving, albeit slowly...

The UK server is dead? I'd be interested to know what time you get on and what race you play, cos there's always people around when I'm on, around 4pm to 6pm GMT, all day Saturdays.
In fact, there have been issues with people crowding to get into the 'hot' resource spots around Matis. I have to agree with you if you're talking about Zora though, not too many people there, but still I always see a few trotting about.
On-topic...
I seriously doubt Nevrax will respond to this kind of thing. I can honestly say that since open beta 1 when I started I have never seen a post directly from Nevrax on the forums, apart from one or two vague posts about bug patches, and certainly never anything that even hinted at a date for implementing anything.
The Euro English server is far from dead when I play (evenings 7PM GMT - 11PM GMT, and far too much at weekends )
Zorai still seems to be the most underpopulated continent, but we always have a healthy list of players. I'm generally based in Min-Cho - when you're in the city, you're in the Cities of Intuition region, and my favourite mat spots are just outside the city, in the Grove of Umbra region. Both region areas show a healthy list of players, although the CoI region is obviously more populated.
I doubt Nevax will get into direct communication through the forums - there are so many individual members of the community, that kind of interaction can be dangerously time-consuming. Another problem is when these communications are rushed, and people misunderstand them or interpret them incorrectly. We'd all love more interaction with the Devs, but we don't want that to damage how the game progresses from this point.
I have no idea where anyone could get the idea that the Euro server is underpopulated!
I passed a new character through Tryker starter Isle and there was at least 50+ people online there!
Tryker is always packed even at 1am GMT.
Matis went quite for a while, but the pop is growing very very fast (My harvester friend stopped complaining that he could get a rez cas he was the only one there, to complaining that he can't get to his spots cas they are full of diggers).
Fryos - well just visit Theos or Dryon, when I go there its always packed.
Zoria - don't go there often, but at 12:30 am lvling my heal on a Friday night we bumped into quite a few blue people.
If your are expecting WoW/EQ2 numbers then yep, we don't have that sort of population ..... however I don't see that as a bad thing either. I would rather play with a few thousand friendly players, that care about the game. than tens of thousands who are just playing the lastest Market leading clone.
These games are an investment. Like any investment you may lose your money. As much as I want this game to deiliver i would not want it to go belly up. There are many things about the game I like. However, It is getting as frustrating to play with as a jig saw puzzle with the pieces missing.
I have asked for a schedule in the past. Then stopped playing for a week or two because it was too agrivating. Now, I would just like to see the game have the basic stuff its sapose to have like being able to use your tickets to avoid death penalty.
I would also like the little irritating tweeks to stop. Like when you find a good place to level it changes or when you find a creature that drops lots of mats it wont drop any. I have found that anytime the game starts to become easy in any way. It is changed to become harder or time consuming.
Nervax, a few visual facts.
Within a few weeks of release, the US forums posted the same type of request, and got ignored.
Don't think the French will get much more of a response, so don't count on it.
The dev's have a fail safe that people just don't see.
There disclaimer is that the world of Ryzom is 'evolving', this is there failsafe.
Although the manual discusses 'features' since the game is 'evolving' these features could have been removed do to an evolutionary jump.
Can't do outpost missions when outposts are destroyed by the Kitin, now can we.
The initial account cancelations came directly after patch 1.
That probably lost them half there gamers.
Another disclaimer they can use, as you run around Atys, notice that there are a 'few' outposts with 'kitin' bosses in them.
So far, no one has posted there taking out these kitin outposts (although there are no erected buildings)
No one knows if maybe an outpost will just build if we take out these kitin do they.
You see, there is yet tons of content yet untouched by the players, so maybe they have implamented some outposts for guilds, but we are not strong enough to get them.
Maybe they haven't.
Frankly, the CSR's are the great part, the lack of communication from even the Dev's supervisor or company director is the sad part.
They got there initial moneys worth out of the start of the game.
Where it goes from here is anyones guess.
For those who know about today, I have a supprise for you tomorrow.

True, but fraud is still breaking a contract. You cant just say well the game changed before you bought it or well you must have missed the time when that worked. Or you never figured it out before we changed it. You also have to tell, in a permanant way how and what you changed.
Rewen responded on the French thread - I was feeling lazy so I just ran it through Babelfish instead of translating it personally
In response to your requests, I am able to communicate two good news to you:
The first news, from here about fifteen days will be published on the official site http://www.ryzom.fr an interview of David Cohen (Originator and creator of the play), of Daniel Miller (CTO), and of Guillaume Puzin (Assistant of production). During this interview, they will trace an assessment of Ryzom and changes brought since the release. They will speak to you today about the situation of Ryzom and its future, in order to inform you on their current positions and the changes which you will see in the future.
The second, two texts are currently under development in order to first of all communicate and to also bring answers to you. The first will have as a subject the encyclopaedia, of the explanations on its operation and what it can bring to you in term of play. The second text will present the outposts to you which will thus constitute the Chapter Three of Ryzom. These two texts will be also published on Internet site in the two weeks to come.
Here for the first answers brought to your requests, other projects in order to improve the direct communication between the players and Nevrax are being studied, however these projects require more time and of reflexion when to their execution.
