Am Faced With An In Game Dilemma

Im still finding it hard to follow why you quit your guild and seem to be telling us that RP/PvP ect is your reason for doing this......are we suppose to feel pitty for you or somthing? We may bicker when we RP....or even bicker ooc but when it comes down to it we still get along. I may want to slay you over and over but if you want to go lvl together no problem. We are all nice players even those who seem over the top. Sorry Im just having a problem seeing what this post is "exactly" about.....it seems your trying to get pitty out of this somehow....I have none.

I dont think people actualy realize that atm there is almost no PvP going on....my guild usualy waltz's around down in PR with out seeing another player for days....CP and others are trying to get things moving ...get us doing somthing other then the grind. I think they and Raynes are doing an awsome job and getting things heated up.

I have recognized a place for PvP in this game. Please recognize a place for me to play without it. The same goes for RP. Just dont hurl it in my face, or remove a major part of the game in the process.

I guess what you don't understand is this:

You do *NOT* get to choose where PvP is and is not okay. You "recognize" it? Spiffy. Now "recognize" that it BELONGS there. If you get killed in PvP zone, you had better "recognize" that you knew well in advance that it is _DESIGNED_ to happen.

Please, comprehend that if someone consideres you the opposition in a PvP zone, then it is _NOT_ ganking, griefing or anything resembling it so long as they are treating it in the manner as they should. IE: killing you and moving on.

Have I said those words that cause trembling? Honor, maturity, responsibility? Do they threaten you? Maybe its being considerate of others?

If you have the need to gank a solo harvester, from a solo guild, why go ahead. Whats to stop you? The game allows it, so far.

Ort - I know what you mean... it's not unlike you are what you eat; you also are what you say and do, even in play.

I don't feel that trash talk, even in play is a good thing for me so I don't do it. I do hardly any RP and when it gets to the us against them part, I quit or deflect the conversation.

Guess my hippy-dippy days give me away. Heh - peace, man. Just not comfortable about violence in thought and deed with real people involved.

You should be asking yourself the very same questions with your concern for PVP and faction/race wars in game. Most of all you should take your own advice... "Its only a game. Take a deep breath, relax..."

The Limiting of PVP is a consession as I see it, Orts numbers...like mine have OPEN PVP in one group, all others in another. Check that math, I bet you get 2/3rd.

I do NOT mind PVPers having their fun, that is why I said Arena or duels, if both want to pk, let em. But having a system where one player minding their own bees wax can die because someone else has their own agenda, and I don't CARE what it is, is NOT ok with me. SO...put me in the against ALL PVP for your math.

Dont know where you got 2/3rd from. Only 5 peeps said that they did not want PVP. 23 peeps say PVP is ok but they dont want it open PVP. 27 peeps want pvp in arenas and 19 are cool with whatever way pvp goes.

5+23=28 against most types or all of pvp
27+19=46 for some type of PVP

It does not say we are all lovey dovey or that everyone get along it says we are rivals. Army/Navy are rivals and dang they sure do talk allot o trash to each other and then on some days they get together and fight it out in a area they can called a football stadium. Wow PVP in real life who would have tought of it.

Also not all roots are PVP. Only one. Its not like i can go to matis and wipe noobs at yrk or anything. PVP at this point in the game is a thing that you choise to do if you want by coming into PVP areas. If you dont wanna PVP dont come into the PVP areas.

I dont know what everyone has been hearing about CP or whatever. I dont really care what anyone or guild thinks of me or my guild. We are going to play the game the way want to. PVP was givin to us by the devs and we intend to use it. If there was no PVP what would be the point of having 2 sides kami/karavan as rivals. I know of only like 5 peeps we have killed in the PVP areas when on a patrol(this figure does not include people who have been killed in staged or arranged PVP fights, and yes there are guilds staging PVP events kami and karavan working together to make PVP and player content.) Its not like we go around ganking anyone and everyone we feel like. I have rules of engadgement that my guys follow. They know what the rules are and they follow them.

Outside the PVP areas CP talks smack and gives karavan peeps a hard time sometimes. We crack on ya by calling ya whitey or say go home to ya if your in our lands. Its all in good fun i think. We still rez people who get killed by a mob regardless of your race or faction. We hunt with karavan sometimes and dig with them as well. Just playing the game m8. If you cant take this i wonder what you will do when outpost come and PVP and faction war really begans.

Look your character lives on Atys. On Atys there are extreme tensions between groups and races. You saying to leave you out if it, is just as if you living in America in 1864 and demanding to stay out of the civil war. You want to be left out of it, then head out to the wilderness areas where you never have to deal with other homins. Otherwise deal with it because it is what is going on right now in Atys history.

I see the posts to this thread, and note the postions taken. Most of these are restatements, slightly reworded. The only major difference is the trend in these posts.

However, I see no concern for abusive followup by members and copycats to the RP bigotry.

I take note of the PvP related threads, to stay a bit informed. I listened before to guild chat about PvP encounters to understand. I note that some of the posters to this thread are not fully informed as to what is actually happening.

I believe that Nevrax is interested in the direction of this game. They have played their cards fairly close to their chest as they implement content, so I am not sure what their clear vision is yet.

They should compare postings of 4 to 6 weeks ago to those being posted now. Also, compare the actions in game of 4 to 6 weeks ago to those occuring now, and seek to understand their effect on players.

Then extrapolate these observations, and see where they lead. If this fits Nevrax's vision then they should continue. However, if this is not what they had in mind, then by all means make a correction before it is too late.

It is Nevrax's decision to make, yet we all ultimately get to vote on that decision. They can make this game to be what they want, it is their property. Then we the players vote with our credit cards by choosing to play or not.

Nevrax may, or may not, be concerned with player volume, but I think that they are. Cerest has reflected a company concern for player opinions. I trust that this thread is of concern to Nevrax.

sky, i agree and disagree with you. firstly, you want to be left alone in the roots, i'm taking it you are talking about the nexus and umbra. in your situation as a one-man-guild i understand that your claim is valid as you're not posing much of a thread to anyone. now what i have to disagree with is you can't demand that those things simply happen.
my suggestion is: if attacked and killed, don't get riled up about it, keep your calm and /tell the person in question. ask who their guild leader is and then talk with him in order to negotiate your further interactions. try to convince them you're not an enemy, it doesn't even take much or any rp and you'll be surprised how sensible people can be if talked to calmly.
don't forget that, no matter how much rp or pvp there is, above all this is an mmorpg and it's main content is people interaction. and that includes the good and the bad, how bad the bad is depends completely on the individuals involved
