Change the Events board section from "The Saga" to simply "Events"

I want to request that the people running this board change the name of the events area from "The Saga" to "Events". Lately there has been an explosion of rp on our server, as such many of us have started to post in The Saga section of the board. We have has some real good rp conversations going on only to be told to move the conversations to another area. By telling us to move our conversations you are pretty much telling us that our rp is not part of the Saga. It's enough to have to fight with other players for the right to have our RP be included in the saga, we shouldn't have to fight the people running this board also.

You do know Raynes that there is actualy a place on the boards for RP i beleive it is called "Role Playing Boards" No need to get mad or upset that there telling you to move it out of events section makes perfect sence. The answer is simple move your conversation to the role playing board.

It doesn't make sense to move discussions centering around "the Saga" out of a board section called "The Saga". The Saga is comprised of many things, events alone are not the Saga. It's poorly named.

The board is a pirvalige (sp?) not a right.
Those are words echoed to me from conversations in the past, and there true.

Unfortunately the player RP has nothing to do with the in game saga, it never has, probably never will.

He's right though this is their forums, so they could call their boards whatever they wanted to.

They could call it like.... "umm yeah this" and "oh yeah that board for that subject" or "O Rly?"

well I beleive "your" saga is not "there" saga. Rules are rules and your RP you dislike Karavan. Just move it to RP boards not a huge deal, nothing to get worked up over. The name of the forum makes sence to me as they post Events having to do with "The Saga" under a board called the Saga. The posts usualy contain narration.

So, either the forum group needs a new name, or people need to start realizing that an online RPG actually involves RolePlay. You don't have to RP if you don't want to, but don't come down on those who do.

Now, of course, this isn't just about players. Rayne's point is that the staff here have been asking the RP posts to stop. I say, why?

Why are RP events and situations any less a part of the game than the hack and slashers that go to events that consist of little more than beating up some monsters? Both are equally valid ways to play the game. Not to say I like both play methods. Personally, if I wanted pure hack and slash, I'd play Diablo 2, single player, in a room by myself.

I recognize that, as you can well see by my discussion over there.

My point is, that I don't think it's a good idea to have it seperate. Especially when the moderator can make the official event threads sticky.

Roleplay should be an intergral part of an RPG. If I wanted to just read staff write-ups of events (even if I did participate), I'd read a book.

I guess what I'm saying is, if story related events have no room for player input, why aren't they just a book?

Why should a hack and slasher killing a bunch of kitins during a swarm have more importance in the game's story than things that happen in RP in the game?

*grumbles* If I'm not careful, I'm going to turn this into a rant about how online RPGs shouldn't even be called RPGs, because the developers and staff seem to have no interest in including RP as an element of the game. And keeping the official story seperate from the "story" that's created by the RP in the game... just seems silly.

It's not a the fact that people who RP can't post there, it's the fact that the title is misleading. I'm not asking to be allowed to post rp there, nor am I asking the rules to post there be changed. I am just asking that it be renamed to something that is not so general. Something that is specific to it's purpose. Rename is something like "History in the making".
