You can look at the Flora to gain hints. Doesn't always work, but there's squiggleys in the jungle. According to an old doubletap tutorial there is an arangment in the squiggliy roots or the flowers that tells you if there is a material there. I just prospect when I see squiggly's since it's a 4 second prospect. My prospect will also show me something outside of them since I'm using such a high range.

Usinuk, You'll find that suggestion on the wishlist - unless Cerest deleted previous posts in her list update. I believe hers says 'mission mat stanzas' or something. I've mentioned it a lot in hopes that someone would take up the flag. I also contacted a GM about this in game. I explained to them how it took me roughly 10 hours just to get the 3 small bubbles for the very first harvest mission.

For this mission I used a 40 meter 60 or 90 degree angle prospect and 'blanket prospected' the entire region (It seemed some of the things I needed were out of season to!). Imgaine doing this with a 5-10M prospect and 20 degree angle. It'd take a full week's worth of playing. Anyways the GM agreed that this was ridiculously tedious and boring and would submit the ticket. My suggestion is that everyone submit suggestion tickets for this very idea!

At the very least, to build up a level progression of rites, the first rites could be relatively simple and offer these stanzas as rewards.

I have tryed to give quest materials that I had harvested previously and the mission giver didn't accept them.
They are not activated until you accept the mission, then the mats are counted down until you have completed the requirements. You have to get the mission, then the mats.

Yeah, you have to harvest them for the mission. If you harvest them before you accept the mission they will be useless, just as if you craft something before you accept a craft mission.
