as soon as idiots stop trying to claim that ranged is not broken then I will... Until then there are lovely comments like someone trying to claim that QL60 autolaunchers hit for 1200 a pop in PvP and some GMs telling me that they don't feel range was totally broken and it was just my oppinion which is not always going to be the same as Nevrax's. Perhaps someone would like to point out what exactly is great about the absolutely broken state of ranged weapons.

I also find it a funny coincidence that there are easily 2-3x as many threads about ranged since retail in the german and english forums than the french forums and that the only forum folks did not say "this will hurt ranged" was also the french ATS forum. Combine the fact that Nevrax is in france, and coincidence or not... it looks painfully obvious that nevrax doesn't care what is said here.

We could also look at it as 80-90% of the ranged combat threads in the US forums where created By you tetra ......I think they care what is said on these forums ....do I think they like many of us tire of reading your rants .....more then likely yes.

Tetra I didn't ask what the problem was. I asked what exactly your proposed solution was given that varying factors within ranged are so drastic that it makes it difficult to find a simple 'overall' solution, such as 'raise the damage factors'.

More specifically, a bowrifle does ~1/4 the damage of a launcher/auto launcher. If you raise the launcher damage to the equivalent damage/time of a caster, then bowrifles will still be obscenely weak. So launcher ammo needs heavy ammo and is only to be used for special occaisions?

If rifle damage is increased to be ~caster damage/time for effective use then launchers and auto-launchers would be immensly over powered.

how do you propose accuracy tweaks? If the stamina/rate bricks cost less and damage were increased to an effective rate. Wouldn't there be an unbalance with casters? Sure casters have longer range. But like I said they have to charge their spells up. a person does not have to halt to use a gun. If I'm running towards you with my launcher then I will get my shot off at roughly the same time if not before.

All I'm asking is what you think a solution would be that takes into consideration balance. Usually I see complaints about problems and no clear proposal that would keep balance with all classes in all forms of physical ranged combat.

I am not asking you to reiterate the problem.

About the french forums lack of comment on ranged:

You do notice that there's only about 20 of us who post here heavily, and about 50 others that post regularly. The rest send in tickets man. So if the 70 regulars on the french forum didn't complain, I don't think it's a terrible thing. Odds are pretty amazing that we make such a big deal of it here. Then again, we are the most active forum.

You'd think those wussy frenchmen would though, since they like to hide behind everyone else. I'm so j/k btw.

By that logic, the fact that I make most of the posts about ranged in the north american forum, is perfectly reasonable and there is plenty of reason to fix it.

Granted it is reasonable and there are plenty of things that are wrong. It's more reasonable that other things are fixed first.

Yea... things like todays change with the DP timer tickdown from 3 days to 20 days was really important. Fixing the description for +hitrate bricks and a couple ranged crafting titles were pretty damn pressing issues... I agree.

It's amazing that someone can even try to defend nevrax on this issue.
