Let me tell you why this idea really does suck b*lls and I would equate targeting harvesters for PvP the same as man hitting a woman.

Harvesters in their very nature have specialised in a non-aggressive role, we enjoy the occasional melee but all our skills that are +100 are in foraging and crafting. So to be honest we are EASY targets, really big for a lvl 200 melee or magic user to come kill a forager whos melee will be generally around 100.
We chose this profession because we are more interested in making not destroying (oh and at CS and Planetside I average a 4 to 1 kill ratio).
If you want to do PvP then do it against people of your own lvl and type, i.e. PvP other fighters and magic users.
Dont be a bunch of big fat girls and lets face it pick on the EASY OPTION and use the excuse of "its guild wars".

There a general trend starting in SoR of people wanting everyone to play the way THEY want to.

Raynes wants everyone to RP all the time.

CP wants PVP non-stop.

They could say the same thing and claim that you want everyone to not RP or PVP ever. If they did I'm sure you would reply something along the lines of: "No, I don't want everyone to play like me. You can RP/PvP all you want, just keep the rest of us out of it".
And that is basicly what they are saying too: "You can not RP/PvP all you want, but then don't interfere with our RPing/PvPing." (ie. don't pick a side in the kami/karavan conflict, because that automaticly means you're part of the RPing and enemy to those on the other side).
[I realise I'm putting words in other people's mouths here, so Raynes and CP are free to correct me if I misinterpreted their statements.]

Sorry about that violent outburst... it happens from time to time. Anyways, PvM gets old after awhile that's why they invented PvP.

If you don't like getting killed in the PvP areas while you're digging then don't go. You don't HAVE to get those mats from the PvP areas for your "ZOMG I've got this uber amp so I can nuke you into next week" do you? Nope, you can always go out and buy them, that's what I have to do since I couldn't dig to save my life

This will only bring back the anti-PvP uproar before PvP was implemented.
If you want to PvP go play Counterstrike. I'll join you there for an easy target. You'll get just as much satification as you would griefing me while I'm trying to find an active node without an aggro sitting on it.

I'll take this time to once again ask that the areas used for crossing into one land to another be removed from open PvP designation. PvP should be left to the arenas, or the Nexus.

Even the pro-PvP players say that this game, this implementation and the mechanics used are not condusive to PvP. Give the pro-PvP a place they can fight without impeding others. Give them something to fight for. Just because 9 L200+ players cap a lone harvester or a small hunting party doesn't do anything but ruin a person's play time. There is nothing to gain by griefing those that wish only to have access to Prime Root mats.

Player vs Player, Guild vs Guild, Race vs Race, Kami vs Karavan, Everyone vs Kitin, RP vs STFU, Player driven Story vs New Content... why all the conflict!!

If I'm forced to concede to the notion that the Prime Roots will become open PvP in whole as originally stated, then I only ask that a method be provided to travel between lands without risk of PvP engagement and increased access to excellent and supreme mats outside the PR and the PvP areas.

First off - I'm all for PVP; I dont mind kiling havesters of opposing guilds or be killed. For that to happen - Give me an ability to declare war and get the dots on my radar of a different color.

There is also a point to Rockfarmer's statement; PVP is Good, random, non-stop, rez-kill PK is not.

There should be penalties for PKing someone. There should be equal penatlites for dying in PVP. There should be looting to some degree.

It is sickenning the way it is now:

I'm digging
Someone shoots me from behind
Someone kills me
I respawn
I get rez killed
I respawn in another location
Get my sap/hp
Run over to the previous place
Wipe 2-3 people that killed me since I got my equipment on instead of a pick
Go to the teleporter
Rez-kill then a few times
let the cycle begin

How often have you been killed? By who? The penalties are so light it's absurd. If you're not into it and don't come back at anyone in kind, no one's going to have it out for you. No one's going to try to permacamp you, at worst say kill you a couple times. Spawn and run back, if it ever happens. It's no more the end of the world than when we had to worry about avoiding gingos.
