Disconnects w/ Antivirus systems and misc

Post by ranndom0 »

On the Topic of Disconnects Maybe some information for people who still need more help

Things to try

*Try Defragmenting your system to help it run faster

*Try Setting your Antivirus system
~Turn it compleatly off
OR
~set it so that Ryzom is alowed and that the firewall doesent block

Alot of the disconect problems are because of Firewalls

*Try unpluging your cable box(if aplicable) and your router for at leaste 20 seconds then re plug them back in

If there are any other things that anyone can think of that systematicaly cause problems besides the information bout setting router ports in the "10 Minute disconects" that has already been said please add some feed back

i will say that both norton AND mcafee's firewalls have been known to create issues with internet connectivity, so removing them completely might be the best solution, windows xp has a built in firewall that is a LOT better in sp2 than previous versions

as for my suggestions try this

turn off xp firewall
update ALL your drivers
update windows (ignore the driver updates if you've already done that)

if none of this works remove your firewall, both norton and mcafee will still deny things even when told to allow it, zone alarm is better AND it's free
