Invisible monsters - bug, or sadism?

Post by daniel21 »

Ok, first off - I originally made an express account, I just wanted to try out this game for a couple of days, see what it was like.

Now, I've made a deluxe trial account, JUST so that I can ask this question:

Did the dev's make the weeny ragus' invisible on purpose, out of some kind of malicious, sadistic, evil, vile, disgusting urge to spread misery and frustration, to breed hatred and anger?

Or is this a bug?

I've been killed about 8 times today, my FIRST day of playing, assassinated each time by a weeny or puny ragus that slips up behind me while I batter mindless forest creatures. I can't see them coming until their names pop up, which is usually when their about 2 feet from me.

If these creatures are supposed to be invisible, I'm immediately going to delete my accounts, un-install the game, and forever curse the name of Ryzom.

When the hell is it going to be fixed?

Because, honestly, getting randomly owned by monsters I can't even see coming is definately NOT making me want to play this game.

Especially combined with the other things about the game that don't seem too great, e.g., endless grinding.

umm, they still show up on radar, AND their names hover above them...

I have more heart than anyone would know :) I will let you in on a little secret... I am doing this for my newborn daughter... no one else... I like that game, but I do not have the time anymore. My first priority is to my daughter. End of story.

Ragus are very fast, watch your radar ;)

Lagging Mobs (invisible until they hit you) are very rare.

I'm not talking invisible until they hit me, these things are just plain invisible. Every time, all the time. Since I posted that initial post, they've killed me twice. Nearly every time I walk outside of the newbie village, if I try to go past the suckling yubo's and attack something else, I get jumped. Combine this with the fact that running away is nearly IMPOSSIBLE when they do 50+ damage a shot vs my lowly 200 hp.

lol that totally sucks man. I remember PR used to have this corridor full of invisible mobs and you'd get owned fast. then mobs with guns and plants had unlimited range. oh my god you can tell what kind of a headache that was!

This is only a small test

Get used to dying, or then pay attention and be carefull, i choose the second (and still die alot...but now with people around to rez me hehe)

One of the things i like is this game is not easy, you must learn to have patience, depend on yourself if possible and you will do fine

Enjoy them killing you now knowing you will pay them back (at least i did HAHA)

if its any help,

ragus have since the last patch been made invisible in the newbie land, so your not alone really in seeing this problem as rugus are the biggest pain in the arse in newbie land (and even in the mainland sometimes)

needs to be sorted as it does not look good for people who are trialing to be killed by invisible mobs,

bugs in noob land = less new player
less new players = less money
less money = less dev time
les dev time = bad game

and so on
