The message has been sent, the time of the Kami is coming!
The first strike against the supporters of the wicked Karavan was made this weekend. After making our intentions known at the Karavan convention, Kami supporters launched an assault on the AntiKami tribe of the Witherings. The battle was a tough one but in the end the only possible outcome happened, the Kami supporters victoriously cleared the camp free of the evil AntiKami. Let it be known that from this point forward any individual or group that is found to be popular with the Karavan will be assumed to be a supporter of them. This includes the neutral Pegasus Foundation. They have claimed neutrality for too long while their actions show differently. At first members attacked the Sacred Sap tribe. Then they were found to be protecting the vile Green Seed. Finally they were caught with large representation at the Karavan convention.
Let this be a warning to those who oppose the Kami and their ways. Your actions will not be tolerated. The Karavan have corrupted the minds of Homins to long, their alien presence disrupting plant and animal life. Let it also be known that the Kult of Kami is not alone and we have allies in many places. The chance for peace was extinguished when members of the Karavan sect Gladius Jenae along with several other groups, including that of the neutral Pegasus Foundation coldly murder the Sacred Sap.
At this time we are forming plans on our next target. Send out warning to your Karavan masters and their supporters, the time of the Kami is approaching.

Re: The message has been sent, the time of the Kami is coming!
Gladius Jenae sadly acknowledges your slaughter of the Anti-Kamis; they were hugely more powerful than the Green Seed to whom your wrath had previously been shown. Similar, we have set our sights higher on Kamist tribes in the Knoll of Dissent.
For those neutral players who watch the struggle between our guilds with growing alacrity fearing that all of Atys will be swept into conflict against their wishes, have no such fears. Gladius Jenae undertook missions commissioned by the Karavan and by a Sargeant of Davae, whom we can only assume represents the King of Yrkanis, to kill scores of the Sacred Sap which we did so. Our efforts to remove Kamist influence from Verdant Heights has so far been limited to these odd characters that are incapable of selective choice and thus redemption known as "NPC"s (hehe ) No Kami follower controlled by a player who passes through Matis lands seeking passage, hunting, foraging, or trade rights will be disturbed in any way though me may silently bemoan your presence. We thus wish to maintain a peaceful air of decorum in our lands.

(Raynes, did killing the AntiKamis have any effect on your guild fame with either the Karavan or the Kami? After our guild had cleared the Sap camp about three times, killing around 50-100 Saps, we were quite shocked to realize that our guild fame with Matis had risen 30 points! We realize that guild fame is very slow to change with missions and so we were quite surprised. However our guild fame with the Zora and the Kami dropped 5 points each to compensate. I dont think mamy players are aware of the opportunity to change their guild fame in this method.)

It's funny I tried to tell people of the result of attacking certain NPC camps, but no one listened. Then when some finally came and tried it, they loved it. They saw guild fame rise a bunch, they saw both Zorai and Kami fame shoot through the roof. They are hooked now to say the least.
And Zum, yes the AntiKami are Zorai, but they are clearly supporters of the Karavan. Thier name after all is Anti-Kami. Killing them gave a nice boost to most players Kami fame.
Re: The message has been sent, the time of the Kami is coming!
effects on personal/global fame? or just guild? Do non-guilded members have any benefit from this?

You get a change in personal fame. If you are in a guild you get (or loose) guild fame with the groups you are attacking. You also get a raise in the general guild fame number. You don't have to be in a guild, you don't even have to be in a group.
Anytime people are interested in taking down some Karavan NPC tribes, let me know. Just keep in mind it took 10 of us to be successful in taking down the Antikamis, other tribes are as hard if not harder.
(I'm still kind of shocked this is such a big suprise to people)
Re: The message has been sent, the time of the Kami is coming!
What about global?
I'm not really shocked, I remember killing leviers in beta. I was max level 50 magic though so I hadn't encountered any npc tribes that were agro. It's not like killing zora kovan randomly gives you fame ya know? Thought they fixed it so we had to run missions.

Global Fame = Personal Fame + Guild Fame
So yes, global will change. Few things to keep in mind:
1) Only tribes that you can interact with will affect fame when killing them. Bandit tribes do not.
2) Fame will only change if you get xp. The fame you will receive will also depend on how much xp you get and your previous fame level. For example during the attack on the AntiKami camp, my Kami fame went up 1 point. It's because I am at 94 personal. Other people got much more.
3) For every increase, there are probably several decreases. Take the green seed, I don't think killing them raised anything. It dropped Karavan, Matis, and Tryker though.
4) The decrease in fame is massive. In a hour or two of killing green seed I went from about +30 Matis and Tryker fame, to -50. So if you do kill NPC tribes be prepared to deal with the negative fame.
Re: The message has been sent, the time of the Kami is coming!
"if you get xp" so if I'm to high level to kill icon worshippers and get xp from them, I can kill them willy nilly with no effect on my fame? (or just negative but no positives?)

+ Civilization fame. Your Global Fame is, by default, your Civ. fame until you raise your personal fame in some manner.
