Karavan Vs Kami Vs Netrual

Post by zinan1 »

RP is fun and and is good to see Guilds takeing part in the story of Ryzom.
I would like to clear some things but.

1) This is a RP game.

2) RP guilds killing npc's Does not effect you in any way. Only there Fame and Guild Fame.

3) You have a choise to RP or not and pick your fraction.
Read the story line.

4) If you get killed in the PvP area's I understand your pain but hey its PvP area.

5) if a RP guild/Person is anoying you cause of your Fraction. You have a ignore option on your friends list. use it

ok there just a few thing i would like to say about all this RP that has kind of kicked off.

Ok the anoying part been A netural person. Good mats you need to crafting are in these PvP areas. The Supreme mats are hard enough to get with out haveing to watch for PvPers killing you. Or on a guild trip trying to find new teleports and been killed. kind of makes you not want to go any were.

The fix take out the PvP zones except the Arena's and the nexus.
Add a option the gives Guild leaders the option to make there Guild RP
that way any were they go out side of there main city they can attack/Be attacked buy any other RP guild. that has enabled the RP option. This stops any netural Guild/Homin been killed in the PR wars. And makes harvesting abit more enjoyable again.

Thank you for your time.

Sorry, kinda thought everyone already declaired all the harvesters non-killable, anyway. Let people know if someone kills you, and you can bet that that person would be in big trouble.

The current setup is more than generious in protecting players. It's limited to the Matis Arena, the Nexus, and one area of the roots. You don't have to enter any of those areas. You can get the mats from the other areas of the roots. You can get people to other lands by using the other areas of the roots. The pvp areas are well thought out and setup.

As for the idea of a switch, I am also against that. If you are playing this game you should expect to be a part of rp. If you go into the roots, you expect Kinchers to try to get you. If you go in most of Matis you expect Gingos and Ragus to attack you. It should be no different just because it's another player.

My suggestion to you is to have your harvesters guarded while in the pvp areas if you feel they are in danger. As I and others have stated guilds need to start to take responcibility for their actions. If you are sending your members into the roots, you should be responcible enough to send protection with them.

yea that decleration of harverster neutrality was made by me :)

anyway, rp or not rp, if someone kills you and you were not participating in anything, were small enough community, i am sure word will get around about them and they will not be liked by many

I personally don't have any problems with people role playing, I even think its interesting but not for me. I have tried to pay attention to the discussions and I see merit in the RP viewpoint. I even applaud those who are taking the time to do it, makes things interesting.

Now on to my particular Neutral veiwpoint. I am neutral in this and I personally do not want to be a part of this battle between factions. I think all Homins lives and time are valuable and their particular viewpoints should be respected and violence should not be forced upon them. It does not make sense to brand a whole race as against either Kami or Karavan (not trying to accuse people). This is despite what the lore says, people can change and do change with time. We are deciding the future of Atys and we can make it peacefull place or a violent place.

If there are those that take aggressive moves and force violence on others they should be punished, in a policing action, not as a war. I also think that there should be a witness and verification process before that person is punished.

I also think that the people and guilds that wish to remain neutral should be allowed to do so. I am part of a rather large guild and we are able to defend our own but there are many that do not have that luxury. Those that wish to remain neutral do not want to be pulled into this unwillingly.

I will do my best to promote peace and hope that others can come along side and do the same.

Wonderful post Amin, and it actually borders a good Roleplay post, like the defender of all for peace of every nation thing :)

But one thing that I did notice that I am sad to say can't be helped is :
If there are those that take aggressive moves and force violence on others they should be punished, in a policing action, not as a war. I also think that there should be a witness and verification process before that person is punished.

By the very nature of the devs creating PvP area's they opened up the agression allowed factor, free for all slaying.

Notice that now in game, you hit space, everything / everyone is targetable, both npc's and players.

This is because by default, players not in your guild is your enemy.

How to further define this, under the game options, for the filter rules, if you filter enemy stats and stuff, you will notice it effects everyone but those in your guild.

Now, if the targeting would not allow this like it used to be, then I would say great, but... If they are not in your guild, according to the game dynamics, they are your enemy and targetable.

So they will never punish someone for just coming up to you in game, in a pvp area, and just bam killed you, walking away.

This was very prominent issue during the Kitin wars, it was hard as heck to target the Kitin because of the player target problem.

40+ people, and the only people it didn't auto target in the space bar was my group or my guildmates, everyone else in the event kept being targeted first.

The devs flipped a switch and said, let the griefing begin.
I don't do it, I don't like it, and I stay out of those area's unless I terribly have to go in there.

It was forced on us, in many ways.

Now we just have to deal with others who attack us in these area's, frankly, just because they can.
For those who know about today, I have a supprise for you tomorrow.

To OoC,
There is a good reason we have always gotten along. We seem to be of the same view more often than not. I am glad you have come out on the side of tolerance, peace and unity. I know you have always held those ideals. I am glad to see we are not alone here on the forums with that perspective. I look forward to seeing you all in game.

Staying out of the PvP zone is an obvious way to avoid any confrontations. But what about those players trying to travel between Tryker and Zorai? There just is not an alternate route available, so crossings are forced to go through the Trench of Trials PvP zone.

Last night, Synergy guild of Tryker was leading a crossing from Zoria to Tryker to help get a couple Zorai access to their guild's home which is based in Fairhaven. Before reaching the Bounty Beach portal we ran into difficulties with some mobs and wiped. One of our party respawned at the BB portal in hopes of being able to rez the rest of the group. Unfortunately he was killed by a group of religious supporters as he was returning to our group to rez us.

Synergy guild has maintained a neutral stance and will continue to do so. For Tryker's, the correct choice between Karavan/Kami is not as clear or obvious as it may be for other races. May be with time and/or unlocking of Rites, the answer will become more obvious, but at this time Synergy is a neutral guild.

So far most everyone has respected the rights of foragers in the PvP zones. It is fairly obvious when one is foraging. But what about when a group is doing a crossing between Tryker/Zorai? I don't know about you, but if I'm in a crossing I want to be equiped with my best fighting/mage gear. Since the crossing party is equiped for fighting, are they automatic targets in PvP? Our main goal last night was helping some newer Zorai players gain access to Tryker. What happened along the way was quite unexpected...

If Tryker/Zoria crossings are going to be open targets in Trench of Trials, I fear that Zorai players will be isolated in their own land.

Zumwalt,

I think you misunderstood what I was saying. I am not talking about Dev's or GM's regulating this, other than maybe being judges during a dispute (but that might not work).

I would prefer some kind of civil government type of thing. Where we could state our case and the accused could defend themselves. I would like to have a way to prove that what the person or group is being accused of is actually true. I have heard of people making things up about others and have been witness to it. This type of thing needs to be gaurded against.

I know that we cannot stop everyone who wants to unmercifully kill innocent people, but that does not mean we should allow it either. However all out war is not the answer. I am simply speaking out against violence towards innocent and neutral homins who do not want to become a victim.

I appreciate your comments =)

Jivalax,

Thank you for the kind words and I will pass them on to my guild. I look forward to seeing you and your guild in game as well.

Everyone knows CP's position on this..

Here is our rules of engadgement if anyone wants to know..

1. Identify the target. (first question every CP player asked themselves is "Is this guy or group kami or karavan.") CP is kami so if its Karavan blast him.
2. Does he have a pick in his hand? If so NO GO. If not knock his block off hehe.
3. Let your intentions be known..Sometimes we state that we will fire on you unless you disarm. No response.. blast him.

Lastly i think it was PF zumwalt that said he called for no attack of harvester....funny i tought your guild was neutral in this matter are you guys going to start playing along to?...as i recall CP and Melinoe (during the first PVP war in nexus) were the first guilds to have a nonaggresion pact for harvesters..I have never spoken to you about not killing harvesters..although i am not for that. CP does not kill harvesters (cept for one right now and He has a bounty out on his life for crimes against a CP).

In light of some recent events I did wanna make CP's stance clear. Attacking a harvester for now is bad idea for both sides.

IF YOU HAVE YOUR WEAPONS OUT IN A PVP ZONE AND ARE KARAVAN, MATIS OR TRYKER YOU MAY BE KILLED BY CP.

/ooc

this is nothing personal to anyone. This is a game and CP and other guilds would like to have some PVP/RP fun. If you dont wanna be a part of it dont run around in PVP areas you are asking to be attacked!
