no sound after reinstall

I reinstalled ryzom today, went through the patch procedure and now i dont have any sound effects. I dont get music in towns either. The Mp3 player works however. I have done a 'ryzom_recover' and its still the same.

Any suggestions?

Maybe silly, but did you make sure that sound is enabled in ryzom, music in enabled, the volume is up and have you tried clicking AEX on and off ot the other way around?

Please tell us this, we might be able to help more specific afterwards.

yip tried all that :/ that was the first thing i checked. any other suggestions?

If the sound was off, then I guess the MP3 player wouldn't work

I wonder if some of your sound files are corrupt after patching - do you have any messages when you start Ryzom, or does it all start up/log in OK?

I deleted 'sound.bnp' did another repair and redownloaded what it needed. Its working now. Thnaks for trying
