I fight for hot and fuzzy kami love!
Every body is a book of blood; Wherever we're opened, we're red.

Who knows the end? What has risen may sink, and what has sunk may rise. Loathsomeness waits and dreams in the deep, and decay spreads over the tottering cities of men.

That and some people are taking our roleplaying to seriously, instead of leaving as roleplaying. I am already seeing people get all huffy and puffy about this roleplayed Kami vs Karavan, which is not race against race by any form, its followers agains followers.

Last night I went through the list of missions I still had not completed out of Knoll of Disent, and I had 1 Kill Enemy Tribe (Kami-Aligned I presume, no notes on them) and 2 Kill Enemy Bandits.

Come to find out, all of the Bandits and most of the Tribes are Kami Aligned in the Matis and Tryker regions, and they are Karavan aligned in the Fyros / Zoria regions.

So all those people getting upset over it, if they have ever killed a bandit or tribe member in there area, they did an anti Kami or anti Karavan move, along these same lines, practically every mission I do, has some negative ramafication against Kami if I do them in Matis or Tryker, and the same for Zoria and Fyros against Karavan.

So really, what choice do we have on faction if we want to do missions?
/*shrugs*/

Raynes this has been some great roleplay, but I think were at a stalemate until our challenges make some sort of ingame change, I mean roleplay stuff, where we can do some roleplay in game that will change something or make a difference, sadly.
For those who know about today, I have a supprise for you tomorrow.

Temperrr wanted it made clearly known that she had nothing to do with the events depicted in the screen shots.

I know all of the under level 150 tribes in Zorai lands are Kami based and the ones over 150 are Karavan based. It's much of the reason why I don't go running out killing Karavan camps, I'm just not powerful enough to do it. And getting people together to take out the AnitKami camp is about as easy as walkng up and petting a gingo without it attacking you. It's also why I went and killed the Green Seed. It wasn't because it was in Matis Lands, it was because it was one of the few Karavan camps I could actually take on myself (as there wasn't anyone interested in responding to the Sacred Sap incedent). The action had a more powerful effect though, so it worked out for the better.

I wasn't aware the bandits were aligned with anyone, I thought they went agro on everyone. I know that killing them does not change fame levels.

Concerning your coment about missions, you do have a choice, you just have to do the missions for the side you want to represent. Granted if you are a Matis and want to become Kami aligned you were going to have to work harder, but it is possible. What you don't have a choice over is having fame affected in some way.

And you are dead on about people taking our roleplaying to seriously. The number one comment I get when I roleplay is "Relax, it's just a game". Which is really funny, because they are the ones who need to learn to relax and realise what they see and hear is just part of playing the game. If you see two players in a heated arguement, one is praising the Kami, the other praising the Karavan it's not real. The players argueing have nothing against each other (in fact in my case many are on my friends list).

These past few days have been a incredible fun. But I would be lieing if I didn't say this has also brought some frustration. Mostly from other players who just simply don't care in the least bit. I would of thought that someone taking out a tribes camp would generate some excitement. It didn't. The only responces I got were "we will keep that in mind when we see them around" or "it will respawn, right?".

It's ironic players how players want stuff to happen. They want game changes. They want their actions to affect the story. Yet very few will go out and do things that will have an effect. Look at taking down a tribes camp for example. People will say that it won't do any good. I don't beleive that. Having seen the dedication the dev team has for this game, if players went out and killed the same tribe several times a day for a month, I bet you would see a reaction by that tribe. The devs do watch what the players do, that became clear when they announced the names of the 10 first players to find the encylopedia entries. Or the goo is another example. How many times have people gone and just dug up mission goo? I honestly beleive that if the devs saw this massive amount of mission goo being removed from the ground, they would do something.

Finally I want to coment to the event staff, the GM's, and all of Nevrax. I know you are reading the roleplaying that is going on. I hope you are doing something to help us continue our roleplay. We have made a very good attempt to make he story happen, now it's your turn to do something to continue to make it happen. As a side note if Takashi comes up with a pvp event or a gladiator event in responce to this, I am going to find out where he is, fly there and slap him with a wet trout. Right now there isn't enough support on the Kami side to have those types of events.

RP off:

Raynes, for your sake, our sake, and the sake of the progression of events I hope that more Kami followers come under your fold of the KoK and can assist you. I agree that the balance does seem lopsided to the Karavan currently. Players who do not RP should realize that they dont have to talk the talk of RP, as many are averse to doing, in order to further the goals of an RPing guild. They can advance the goal of the Kami by silent action alone and let a spokesperson do the RPing for them.

In many ways the cards are already stacked against neutrality as Zumwalt illustrated in his excellent thread on fame mythbusting. Players who wish to remain absolutely neutral may find it more difficult to do so in an increasingly polarized environment.

I'll be truthful, the Gladius Jenae is a babe of a guild and all current members, all 7 of us, are under level 150. So I wouldn't presume defeat if I were you if any PvP or GvG event happened to occur However our we are likely to grow in strength and numbers hopefully.

Sacred Sap and Matis

Post by squidna »

Perhaps you've noticed, but Sacred Sap leaders have responded to the attempted purge by condemning any who gain accolades from Matis-- no thanks to a few who took their problem and made it everybody's problem. Perhaps they can be the ones to tell us how much Matis fame is necessary to make the Sacred Sap patrols attack someone on sight.

Less than -100 global, anyway.

I'm not sure if patrols ever attack, to be frank. Tribal villages are another matter, obviously.

The Karavan knows fear and distrust may well be used to manipulate people. The Karavan, your so called 'leaders' use these methods to coerce you to blind yourselves from the truth. Should Jena be hurtful then to the wastelands with her. However, there are those of us, Kami included who believe Jena to be as kind as Ma-Duk, and her dicipiles to use her only as a figurehead to gain power over our fellow homins.

That is why there are those of us with much love in our hearts, Zorai and Kami both who have love and best wishes for our friend Perrako and those like him. They're hearts are still pure, though misguided. We hope in our hearts that they will once again open themselves to Ma-Duk's warm embrace.

As for the events of 2485...
You Matis with your technilogical wonders often cease to see beyond the flickering lights that so easily dazzle your eyes. Indeed you would flay the land to rid yourselves of the kitin scourge and indeed in this we stand together, steadfast, and unwavering.
Yet you dare think ill of those who would serve only to protect you! Yes Matis, indeed, this is no mocking ploy but simple truth.

Fearful of the Kitin, fearful only of what the Karavan would have you believe, you forget one thing. The GOO! This cancerous entity scours the land. As of yet we have no cure that any homin can produce for the plague. The only thing that stops it seems to be the careful cultivating of the land by the Kami. Only in this way are the wilds of Atys strong enough to resist the goo.

Had you reaped the land of all natural resources...Had you build your gigantic mechanations of death and destruction, you would have failed. Evil is unto Evil Matis. Evil is unto Evil. You would have created only death, and in return the goo would have swept in unchecked. Destroying every homin. What would your Karavan say then? what would they do? Had we been so unkind as to let this happen, to let the goo ravage Matis unchecked, there would be no Homins for the Karavan to rule. They would rule their goo. yes THEIR goo. When have they fought this canerous tide? When have they encouraged that you still it?

Only when directly attcked by the goo did the Karavan call homins to arms. Their pet ran unchecked. They needed control. They need the goo and perhaps the kitin to entertain their lust for power.

Jena, I would spit on Jena if only because she lets such tyrants rule and in her stead. I apologize, the Kami often warn me of my temper..perhaps I am mistaken. Perhaps Jena doesn't exist at all, but is a story concocted by the Karavan. Or perhaps they have trapped her, leach from her the mysterious powers that the hold. Perhaps the 'Great Dragon' they teach in their lore is in truth Jena, whom you would call a 'terrible' spirit though she is your greatest savior.

No dear friends, thuogh I weep in my heart, I will do everything in my power to help you. I will do my best in any way possible to rid you of the Karavan menace.

ooc/ wow I just read the entire thread backwards because I changed my settings just before I read it...oh well I suppose it plays a good introduction to my character. I'll have to fix that whole thread thing though.

The Kami have no interest in protecting us. They only protect their land, and are using homins to that end. When the kitin and the goo are gone, I expect they will seek to exterminate hominkind. The danger we pose to their precious resources means more to them than the lives and even existence of homins. They have made that clear.

There is no association between the goo and the Karavan. The goo is probably the work of the Great Dragon, and one of the major goals of the Karavan is to eliminate it. The Kami wail about the goo, but they attack those who would study and understand it. It is certainly not the Karavan that are hiding something about the nature of the goo.

We know the Dragon will destroy Atys. It's important to preserve this world as long as we can, but this is a losing battle. Childishly clinging to this world when we know what lurks beneath its surface is extremely foolish. The Kami are desperate and mad. They want immortality and refuse to accept the truth. The Karavan, on the other hand, are already preparing to shepherd us to a better world when the time comes.

Which is the path of wisdom?
