It doesn't happen all the time but it will sometimes.
When I log off the game will lock up and I'm forced to open the task manager and shut it down. When I do that I also notice that the client_ryzom_rd.exe is still running in the processes tab and I am unable to shut it down from there at all. The only way to get that closed is to reboot my computer, also I cannot open SoR again until I reboot as well. This hasn't been something that has cropped up from the newest patch either, it has been happening since I first installed the game.
Logging off
Re: Logging off
I also had this problem a few weeks ago - it was intermittent here too. However, it seems to have disappeared with one of the more recent patches.
You should always be able to shut down non-system processes from the Processes tab in Task Manager - best to make sure your user has full administrative rights (use the Users option in control panel, and change your user type if required to Computer Administrator).

Re: Logging off
I'm the only user on this computer and yes I have full rights to modify anything on this computer, when I try to close down the client it acts like it's going to but then it doesn't.
