Remember just because the prereq npc was in Pyr, doesn't mean the rite mission giver isn't in Dryon.

As for the amber bug, it does not stop you from getting any new rite missions. It might stop some that appear as a result of finishing that one, but it does not stop access to all rite missions. I know this becuase after I hit the amber bug, I went to another NPC (not the barman) and got another rite mission (stupid harvesting one :( ). I think Cerest was simply trying to tell people to try other NPC's. I don't think she was saying only to try the barman.

Go talk to every NPC you can. There are rite mission givers out there, you just have to put effort into finding them.
Okay - I think we are both on the same page now. I am glad to hear the amber bug doesn't lock up all other rites after you get it. I'm very disappointed that it seems no NPC in all of Fyros seems to think I'm worthy of the 3 rites I should be able to do. One of them I understand that I shouldn't be able to do - I've got -36 karavan fame so shouldn't be able to do that one. However, if I need Fyros fame to do the other two, please tell me how to get over 100 as I'm maxed there. If I need more levels in melee, how many more as I myself have almost 100melee and another person in my guild has 157 melee and still cannot get it. I understand there were people on the ATS server that were started with lvl 250 in all and lots of fame. Do I also need this to progress? I am very hungry for knowledge. I wasn't planning on grinding my melee for it nor do I wish to. IF you can tell me that this is the only way, then I'll do it for awhile. Any which way, I am very unhappy with the way things have turned out for the encyclopedia so far. I have spent all day yesterday and all morning today trying to talk with everyone I know of and still nothing. I have found two new NPC's that claim they give out cubes of knowledge so maybe there are more hidden completely...

Im level 179 melee
Im level 152 Forage
Im level 147 Craft

My personal tryker fame is over 60

I have talked to every NPC in both Fairhaven and Crystabell.
I have talked to all the Corsiar NPCs
I will talk to the Winidmmer NPCs next. Avendale I cant even get missions yet, but I will try them too.

All I can get is two rites...range crafting and foraging, both from the Intendant in Fairhaven.

I dont think the issue is my fame or my levels.
I would think I should be able to get something other than these two.
I have prereq bubbles for about 8 different entries also, btw, that were done when the "easter egg" came out.

All I would really like to know is if Im wasting my time running around looking for something I cant get. I trust it will get fixed eventually, and thats fine. But if I cant do it now, let me know and Ill go work on something else.

Running around Trykerland for seeveral hours last night talking to NPC's and geting nothing was not my idea of a fun game.

All I said was that not ALL the rites are available yet, I said nothing about trying to do them all in one day. I was also pointing out that a large majority of the rituals are still very buggy.

What is currently holding me up from doing more rituals is my low fame with Fyros. I have several prereqs done for Fyros my fame is keeping me from getting the actual rite.

The actual prereq hunt is STILL an easter egg hunt and then when you do manage to complete all the prereqs for a particular rite then its an easter egg hunt again to find the npc that actually gives the rites mission.

I just found out something today. Doing the easter egg hunt over the holidays has actually screwed up my encyclopedia. I went over to tryker today and found the intendant and right clicked on him and he had to additional responses for me where I told him I was ready for the rites.

After clicking both of them I received two clearly defined objectives in my encyclopedia including the ritual for the big bubble. I had not completed any of the prereqs for either of these rites.

I did not receieve these options in matis either to a) having previously completed all the prereqs for the rites I did or b) matis rites being totally screwed up.

Ok few things that need to be cleared up here.

First thing is that all of the rites missions are also associated with the task missions we are all used to. That means level does matter. There are going to be encylopedia entires that require you to complete tasks that only only handed out to those who are at a certain level. I know in at least one prereq there are tasks that are only available to level 100 or higher. Does this mean you have to grind, probably. But grinding isn't so bad if you have a purpose. If there is a rite mission that involves the Shadow Runners (and there is) and you have to be at level 50 to talk to the Shadow Runners, it's worth the time spent.

Fame does matter when doing the rite missions. To what extent I am not sure. I do know that over time I have read that the more a tribe trusts you, the more they will share with you. It's also important to remember that personal fame is important. You would be very known by the Fryos in general, but that's not going to do you any good talking to people on an individual level. Has this been tested as 100% fact? No. But it only makes sense that is the way things would work. I do know for a fact you need personal fame with your race to access tasks and the rite missions. I do not know how much.

Concerning the easter egg prereqs. If you have found some prereqs and got a encylopedia listing, it does not mean that you will get shown who to talk to about the actual rite. The way the final system is setup is that you need to find the rite giver and they will tell you who you need to talk to. It's also important to remember that when you do find the actual rite giver, you will be given another mission. One that is more complicated than tasks. You need to complete that mission in order to get the encylopedia listing and reward.

Finally it's important to remember what the rites and encylopedia are about, knowledge. The encylopedia entries are going to tell you so much about the game. Part of gaining knowledge is learning where NPC's hang out, what they do, where tribes are located, who they support. If you are getting frustrated because you don't want to waste time talking to tons of NPCs to find a rite giver, then the encylopedia is not something you are really going to enjoy. I mean afterall if you don't want to take the time to run out to the Goo Heads camp to see if there is a rite giver, then why would you be in the least bit interested in an encylopedia entry giving the history of the Goo Heads?

Right now the rites missions and the encylopedia are a learning experience as they should be. Go talk to a bunch of NPC's. If no one is speaking to you level up some, if that doesn't work go build up your fame. Then go try the NPC's again. It might seem like a boring and pointless thing to do if there is indeed no new ones you can talk to right now. But the fact is there will be.

One more thing I want to add. This new content has great social possibilities. Everyone in the game should be helping each other out. If you learn something, pass it on as there will be times when you need help. But in order to do this you have to put some work and effort into figuring things out yourself.

If any of you want give me shout in game (character is also Raynes) and I will try to help you. That doesn't mean I will give you answers, but I can nudge you in the right direction, if I know that direction. :)

IMHO, you should be told the fame and level requirements. But right now I have 3 prereqs done and no clue who to talk to to get the rite. Am I missing something?

Yes, you are doing the suff backwards. Forget about finding and doing prereqs. Find the rite givers themselves.

Im Fyros, have 90 personal fyros fame, 200+ desert forage amongst others, and have talked to all the npcs i know of in all fyros towns. Apart from the (bugged) chest quest, the only rite that im offered from anyone is a crafting one at the pyr intendant, which i got before doing the chest quest. (and yes have tried all intendants, sages, barmen, guard chiefs, tribe chiefs etc etc who i know are all rite givers).
I think the rites are a little broken.

Sounds exactly like me only my melee is lvl 94 right now - I'm trying to lvl those last 6 melee levels to see if that is all that's stopping me. If that doesn't do it, you'll probably hear me scream in Matis from frustration. And yes, I've checked all the NPC's in all the regions...

Hmmm ... ok, so I guess I will just continue to level and put off fame and quests till all the systems are more complete. I'll have more fun with it when it's finished than I would running into walls.

I'm used to MUDs anyway, where you'd typically grind your toons up to high level before really starting to play the game.

The more people I talk to, the more its becoming obvious that if you did the missions in the "easter egg", then you are screwed at this point for the rite.
For me anyway, I dont think it is level, or fame..its just the fact I got ahead of the game. Its a bug.
