Solo Player, melee or mage?

I leveled up melee to 45 first to have plenty of HP. Now I just tag along with other low lvls if I want to lvl my magic and if a dangerous situation arises I can switch to melee quickly.

BTW, to answer your question and make your decision for you. Get 3x magic. Almost every other skill can be started easily but magic is the one that is difficult to raise with out the offensive spells. You can then buy a weapon if you want to fight and buy a crafting/harvesting tool if you want to do those.
