how can you know he was looking at you? Just beqause character is pointet your way doesnt mean hes looking at you..
10 seconds isnt really a long time either...
I would res the one i think needs it the most, sometime that is the melee tank and sometimes its the healer, passing judegement like you did here because you didnt get ressed first is insane.
A question of res

You can see something is looking at you because an eye icon appears by it, be it person or mob. And 10 seconds is plenty of time.

i totally agree 10 secs is enough time for me to res atleast 3 people
double heal takes about 3 seconds to cast and heals for 2k+ which instantly resses people, heal power is pretty high so not many people have an excuses for leaving people dead heh

Re: A question of res
Just concentrating on the 1st post, for al the time i have been playing Ryzom, from April open beta into closed beta and now retail, reviving people was an unwritten etiquette law, you see a dead person, you res, simple as that.
Now during April ope beta and most or actually all of closed beta time there wasnt even a death penaty, just politeness to res.
Now theres a death penalty added i think reviving people as an unwritten etiquette rule is even more important, not to speak about evets where you always res everyone so they can keep being part of the event.
Theres only one new addition to Ryzom gameplay i wonder what to dow th reviving, and that s pvp areas and guild pvp battles, still you can have a broad discussion whether or not to revivi a guildteam that lost the guild pvp batle, actually, if id fight guild pvp and win, id feel like i need to res the losing team out f politeness, then again, other people might not think the same.

99% of the time (has been in my case anyway) you will not even see the person let alone the eye icon of the person healing but in this case the other dead person (of the small dead group) in question and his healer were both visible because they were close enough to me.
And yes you can see the eye icon when you are dead.

Re: A question of res
I don't care what guild people around me are when they die.
I will normally priotitize something like this:
First priority is anyone close to spawn, if known - if the only dead are in my team I check the hp bars and heal anyone near to spawn, otherwise I heal the first to fall if I saw who it was
If there's no aggro anymore I'll heal another healer (if known) to help me
If there IS still aggro I'll heal the main tank (if known) to keep them away from me while I heal the others
Finally everyone else, starting with first one I click on.
Obviously this really aplies if I was close to or involved in the combat that got them killed.
If I'm answering a call for rez, I will normally just heal in the order I click them, unless one shouts up that they are close to spawn.
Overall, my main priority will be to get the ones about to die up first. Nothing else matters. Not race, faction or guild.

You're forgetting one little fact here. Not everyone has high heal powers. The person in question might not be an uber healer.
Re: A question of res
Just a note....
Not sure if is common knowledge or not....
If you rez'ing someone to continue fighting Tank, etc...
Heal their main attacking attribute first
Fighter = stam
Magic user = sap
This way when they pop up rez'ed they can hit the ground running and are ready to fight instantly. You also have them selected and you are on the heal key to keep them going longer.
This of course doesn't apply to very high level chars that can use double spells to heal both heath & stam or heath & sap at the same time. I guess at that level they would know all there is to know anyway
I have noticed that high level healer also get lazy and wait till the last min to use a super heal. The number of times I have hit the dirt because of a lazy healer + critical mob hit, keep you fingers busy please. Use a low lvl heal that is covered by you regen rate rather than a umber heal that you only cast every now and then.
From a fighters perspective I would rather be over healed than eating dirt.

thats why you need to enchant your weapon with a heal appropriate to the HP (hitpoints - life) of the players you play with. Note once ppl die they have - 1/2 of their max HP, so someone with 1000 HP will have -500 HP when they die and if you heal them 1000 HP they will have (-500+1000) 500/1000 HP after the heal.
If you arent a good healer ask someone that is to crystalise a good heal for you and put it on your weapon/amp. Afterwards fill it with sap crystals and when someone dies you can easily resurrect them. Always helps to have some extra sap crystals in your inventory so you can fill up your weapon again for example when you are dead. This way when a big part of your team is dead, and the last person gets you ressurected you can get up some other members of your team within seconds which can then get more people up.
This is used a lot at higher lvls and when used correctly it makes teams pretty much invulernable.
Healers thinking they dont need this cause they can already heal well themselves remember this:
- using an enchant is instant and in case of healing it cant get resisted nor can your incantation fail (which may be the case with normal healing). It works 100%
- using an enchant on someone that just got killed by some mobs will not get the mobs that killed him to attack you. however if you use a normal heal instead (of an enchant on a weapon/amp) the mobs may come after you.
Anyway: putting a good heal on your weapons is essential and will help a LOT when things are getting tough and looking bad you can have your whole team back up and at full HP in seconds, turning the tide of the battle in your favor!
