I love this game and the community spirit it has developed and I think one og the best things about it is the lengths people will go to to res me if I die (someone actually came to the scorced forest from pyr for me yesterday).

I can't however get my head around the fact that people are now asking for 20k to res others. If I find a case of this I usually try and get to the person who is dead and res them for free just to deny the person charging.

I had one simpleton find me, stand over my body and demand 20 to res me. I think this is the silliest thing I have heard in a good while and I kindly told him where to go. why oh why do idiots like that insist on trying to profit from others misfortune, this game is set up not as a competitive game (although it might be going that way) but as a team effort to reclaim atys.

Look at the events they cant be done solo by anyone player and they community as a whole would benefit from more high lvl players to progress the story a little. We need to work together bringing people up to lvl which they benefit the community not stand over their bodies and laugh while their timer goes down.

anyways the one good thing to come out of the story was the idiot did not realize I had died on a baying grigo spawn and got chased and killed by 3 of them ...............he didnt bother calling for a res.

Well I certainly would not pay for a rez, why pay for something you give freely to others.

They will lose in the end as they become known and then the good people of Atys will not want anything to do with them.

This is afterall a mmoRPG, a lot of people forget about the RPG part of this and just play as themselves doing a level grind. A lot of RPG players do this as well for a time but its more fun acting in character.

That said there are some gits who just do it to be evil and they should be left to the gingos.

Then if it's ok to role play in that fashion, it must be also ok to role play by alienating those players that choose to role play that way like any society would.

I agree ... let em charge, let em role play a mercenary.

On a side note in-game word travels faster than a porting knicher. Once the roleplaying mercenary has 'earned' their roleplaying reputation, they will have a very lonely existance in the world. I guess thats what they want, I am sure its what they will get.

was no roleplaying in this just pure greed/grief. Suppose one of the funny things was he was doing it around the east gate of pyr where the lower lvl characters who think 20k is a fair bit of cash and get a whole 4k dp anyway. maybe he was doing it just to provoke a reaction

If you see people charge money for ressing, please post their names on the boards so i know who i should laugh at when they are dead instead of ressing.
If someone in my own guild would charge me for ressing me, i would kick
them out of the guild.
