I spent some time trying to track down the secretions we are supposed to be able to forage in the invaded terrirory. Now, I'm not a great forager, but I did quite a bit of work, starting at the harvest camp and going westward. I went west down the road, all the way to the first kitin patrols, without finding anything but normal mats. Then I tried going northward, on the left side of Smitten Mount, and again got nothing but normal mats. Then I apparently walked into a javing trap and got killed.
So has anyone had more luck with this than I have? If so, it'd be useful if you shared where you found the stuff.

Secretion nodes seem to pop up by themselves like the freebies around the starter towns. At least its that way in Trykerland.zarzen wrote:I spent some time trying to track down the secretions we are supposed to be able to forage in the invaded terrirory. Re: Foraging in Knoll of Dissent
On the EE server, I found auto-popping secretion nodes in-between Zora and the Stainmoor Gate PR portal.
I didn't have chance to try foraging myself tho (first a crash, then an entire Kitin patrol popped just 50M away).
Bad thing with the auto-popping spots is the 'no focus regen on harvest completion', like the newbie spots in town, so it's definitely worth trying to find your own, as long as you can harvest Q50+

Re: Foraging in Knoll of Dissent
The kitin secretion sources are only appearing in areas that the kitin has already taken over. Most of these sources are q80, but anything above q 50 is valuable at the supplier at the harvester camp. The sources that contain higher quality mats will be far behind enemy lines and very dangerous without large groups. I've located one source north and slightly east of the matis war camp. Myself and a few other harvesters and some friendly warriors drained the spot dry and took hundreds of mats to the supplier in the harvesting camp. Hopefully this will help out with the lack of generic mats that was occuring before people realised that we need to do work at all three of the camps before the really good stuff happens.
Personally I think this event is awesome. A lot of the complaining at the beginning was just from people who didn't understand the depth of the event when they posted and just wanted to kill a few kitin and win a big sword for it. I love this event because it has a place for everyone.
Note to the warriors out there. If you really don't like the token reward system because it is so hard to get a lot done quickly, maybe you should think about what the goals of your race are in this struggle. It is much more important that our homelands are secure from the kitin than it is for any person to get 120 prime tokens. Try finding some harvesters or crafters and helping them strengthen your races defenses against the kitin onslaught. We don't know how long we are going to have before the true invasion strikes, so it would be wise to pump up our defenses as much as possible before it strikes.
Just the thoughts of a matis fighting for his people.
