Stellus, I don't know what problems you could be getting. I came to the mainland at 20 fight, I had no problems with any of the mobs here. I was wearing self made ql 20 armor non choice materials. I had a ql 10 sword for a while. I had no problems killing mobs. How much HP do you have? You need to up your constitution to max for your level to be able to survive the mobs on the mainland. That maybe your problem.

As for equipment, Im still wearing ql 24 light armor and a ql 24 medium vest. I brought a ql 40 choice pike off joeba and it works great. I can solo anything around my level. (cons green/green). Perhaps you are trying to kill stuff too high for you. 1k xp per kill is the norm unless you are in a group.

Grouping has really sped up my leveling. In a group with a healer a melee fighter can live almost forever. I've taken on level 72 stuff with 2 other people.

I have been using the missions, kills, craft, FedEx, and resource, to make heavy Dap fairly quickly. I have started a new char to really focus myself, on cash and crafting.
I have two other chars on the mainland, and they are not faring well. They both have obscene death penalties(my own fault), and their skills are too spread out, and poorly chosen. But they are both very rich ;) So I recommend using the missions.

I have to agree, the crafting missions are what will keep you ahead of the game if you do them in the starting areas. I'm now almost 60 Heavy Armor crafting just from doing missions and making the odd set of armor for players, all in the starting area (Zorai). I started with 2k dapper, and now have enough dapper to not even notice if I goof on missions by buying mats over what I needed, or making the wrong things. I don't waste my time with FedEx or kill quests, or even harvesting ones because quite frankly they pale in comparison to what I can make from heavy armor missions. Roughly 3-5 missions per starting town, at anywhere from 2-10k profit. So on average, you can guestimate a quick 200k profit if you move around between towns. Doesn't take all that long to run between them :P Make even more by killing all those pesky puny ragus and kipee for some extra money. Kill packs of Izam as you run to each town, make even more money....

Odd... there are plenty of suckling level mob's right outside of the mainland towns... Yubo's just like on the startre island. You should be able to kill those and get enough money to upgrade.

Also, like someone else said, train harvest and prospect around town and sell resources for money. Safe enough around the towns.

Also, train up your Health. If you cant kill the baby mob's around mainland towns, you might not have spent any SP on Health and Health regen upgrades.

Oh, and you don't need to buy a full set of armor. Get a better piece at a time.

Well, Fwuff hooked me up with a Q30 Pike (thanks Fwuff!) so I'm able to go out and hunt proportional mobs again. And that helps a lot because now I can find the loot I need to craft my armor! I guess today did turn out for the better =D

Hi Stellus,
We have chatted in game (IddyBiddy). I had the same problem in beta. There is an increased difficulty and decreased reward on the mainland with huge inflation. Having to go to the mainland and have to resort to fighting suckling yubos is definately a shock. around the first town there are areas that spawn kipees (depends on time of day) ybers and a couple of other critters that you can take solo. (assuming you trained your hps, self heals, and stamina appropriately). Plus these areas are also good group areas for people in your situation (I was one in beta). Stick to the starting island til you get some meat on your bones or unless you are grouped. From what I hear you may be at a slight disadvantage being a Tryker as we seem to have a low race population and grouping may not be the easiest in the start area. If you are still having trouble in a week I will group with you and help get you going.

I personally am staying in noobland until I am 40 in everything I am currently 37 melee, 32 ranged, 31-34 in all crafts, 21 mage and 27th harvester. It is just more cost effective to level to 30th in noobville. xp piles on fast and so does the cash. I made a full level melee to 37th in under 30 minutes just by sitting in a crowd of ybers and 2-shotting them. I got a level and a ton of cash fromthe drops. They arent great xp in the high 30s but solo they have a great xp/minute ratio. When I hit 40th I will stay in noobville for 2 days just harvesting cash. (2nd paragraph is a suggestion for anyone who isnt familiar with mainland and hasnt left noobville yet).

I only use the FedEx tasks when I am heading to that town anyway. Once my crafting is up, I won't bother with the kill tasks either. I do the collecting tasks for the mobs I am going to kill anyway. I haven't tried the Harvesting resource tasks yet. I can't find that stuff. (Note: the quality levels of some collecting tasks is still not correct)
BTW I doubled up on med FedEx missions, and when I gave the parcel the NPC took both, I wasn't able to split them. Is there a way to split items?

If you are having a hard time starting out ... GROUP!

There are spots here and there where you can solo in this game. Grouping is essential in many cases. Sure, you can get by but is the LOOOOOOONG grind really worth it when you can make friends and allies and do it quickly?

Just a thought
