Re: Initial Tutorial... very confusing

there was a tutorial? wow i missed that one. hehe. LOL only barely! It was probably the weakest tutorial in a game I've ever seen, but at this point I suppose it doesn't much matter (at least for myself.) I just gave up entirely on the tutorial. I leveled myself up a bit and headed to the mainland ...

Re: considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

The 20/20 just means the tree splits. When you hit 21 the magic tree will automatically become Offensive Magic and Defensive Magic. From that point on magic xp will go to one or the other, depending on what you did in fight (or both if you use both types) Ok that makes sense. I guess it also means ...

Re: Initial Tutorial... very confusing

That seems so... obvious hehe. I didn't think to try it before, but I'll give that a shot next time I find myself squinting

Re: considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

Glad to hear you're enjoying yourself. Hi and welcome. I just thought I'd ask about the level 20 cap you mentioned. You can go up to whatever level you like on the starter islands! There is no upper limit other than the game limit itself (250!) it just gets quite tough to gain decent experience ...

Re: considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

Thanks for all the input everyone! I'm loving the open, friendly community around here :) Here's the "my life as a newbie mage" update: Last night was a very interesting session. I started at lvl 1 in magic since I'd never used it before. It was slow going at first and then I teamed up with someone ...

Re: considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

Ok I'm sold on sticking with one character :) I'll see how that develops tonight! I'm beginning to think that this game is an even bigger time sink than most MMORPGs lol. No one ever wants to be mediocre at something so it seems easy to fall victim to wanting every skill as high as possible... which ...

Re: considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

Insane? Not at all. Whatever path is the most fun for you is the right path for you. The one advantage to working melee in addition to magic is being able to keep your hp high. But it's not a requirement. You'll get hp increases even without melee, just not as often. Hmm so maybe instead of rolling ...

considering trying a (mostly) pure mage

I really enjoy the visuals of magic in Ryzom, in particular the Zorai spells :) So I'm thinking of making a 2nd Zorai character to be a mage (the first will have to just be my jack of all trades guy.) After looking around the forums here I'm not finding very much info on going the mage route and ...

Re: Initial Tutorial... very confusing

And it really does seem that only some of the NPC dialog is thrown into the chat window(s).

Speaking of which, is there a way to increase the font size of the chat bubbles? I know how to do this for the chat windows, but not the bubbles.

I accidentally discovered the "hold both mouse buttons" one and find I use it a fair amount already. I think I'll remap the autorun key since I'm so picky hehe.
