Does anyone know when we can expect outposts to come up for grabs? I seem to remember them saying it would be in Patch2, but they're not in any of the release notes or previews... :(

Chapter 3, no ETA yet, but my guess is another 3-4 month.

Dampir, no one knows, since it isn't active on the test server (and therefore the normal servers).
You might try and get a reply from the devs, but they are probably too busy working to answer anything specific.

As Zcorpion mentioned, the original intention (and hopefully it's still the same) was that each Outpost would be initially occupied by a tribe. A Guild would require a certain amount of fame, and would need to visit a city-based (Pyr for example) NPC to collect Guild missions. Once these missions were completed, the Guild could then approach the Outpost/Tribe.

At that point, the decision is made to either take the Outpost by force (by defeating the tribe and any reinforcements they might acquire), or to take it by diplomacy by doing further Guild missions for the tribe itself. I think the original idea was that it could be a race - i.e. several guilds could collect the missions for a given outpost at the same time, depending on their guild fame levels.

This will be one of the more interesting guild aspects of the game, if it works as originally intended :)

I dont like the guild fame thingy bit here, since the fame increases with the number of members, there's gonna be guilds who'll be after the numbers only...

As far as I can tell, guild fame is dependant on the members fame not the amout of members.
I do a fair amount of mission runs each week, and the guild fame increases from time to time, independent of amount of guild members.
Also the guild fame is influenced more by the leader and high officers than the regular members.
