The Burning Desert

In the heat of the Fyros desert the invasion continued to gain force. The Kitin front became denser with the sharp claws and shrill voices of the enemy. The people of Fyros worked diligently to equip their troops and defend their camps from the invaders.
Then it came. A call to battle for all who would hear it. The kitin had sent a raiding force through the lines, and against the Fyros defenses. It started small, and the Fyros guards made short work of the attackers, but as soon as one wave was beaten back, another wave rushed in. This constant barrage kept up for some time, before the unthinkable occured. The small forces that had been attacking thus far seemed only to be testing the defenses, the real attack finally came. Dozens of Overlords poured into the Fyros resource camp. The homins present were caught completely offguard. As the guards fought valiantly, several homins were trampled under the sheer weight of the kitin attack, many others fled to the safety of the water in hopes that reinforcements would arrive to help them fight the invaders.
Their hopes were answered as homins arrived in Dyron to defend the camp. Homins from other lands as well as native Fyros poured in to help the guards, and the cornered Homin defend their position. The resource camp was completely overrun at first, but slowly the Homin began to gain ground. They slaughtered kitin right and left, hacking and cleaving, magic soaring overhead. Like a grand show of fireworks overhead, the colors of celestial missles lit up the sky as the healers revived their fallen friends. The elemental magics flared up and bolted across the field felling the giants one by one. Finally it seemed the Homin had found the advantage. The Kitin numbers were reduced to almost nothing and the Homin were making short work of what remained.
Suddenly, from depths of Atys rose a Kipuryk, a Kitin of such size as to dwarf even the great Kincher warriors. The Homin were shocked at the arrival of this new goliath, but wasted no time in taking action. After clearing the few remaining Kitin and watching the Kipuryk fell other Homin in a single sweep of it's claw, the Homin turned their attention to their fallen brothers, and the Beast in their camp. Healing furiously, they revived the dead and charged the Kipuryk. Amidst the din of combat the Homin's voices could be heard, calling for healers to revive them after each devastating swing of the Kipuryk's talons. Every Homin present fought with unshakable courage, as the swords, axes and pikes, the missles and afflictions, slowly wore the Kipuryk's strength. It's rage culminated as he neared defeat, crushing Homins with every step, but the will of the Homin's could not be broken. The Kipuryk fell with a crash shaking the ground and stirring a great dust. The Homin had retaken Dyron and the Resource camp! Victory was in the air and the Homins could feel it as they marched to resecure the Crafting camp.
Another great battle was waged as the Kitin fell under the blades and spells of the homin. One by one, the Homin cleared their camp of the Kitin. Victory was at hand! As they finished off the invaders, another behemoth came up from the ground. A second Kipuryk had been sent in! The whole force of Homins had not followed to this camp, so with reduced numbers the homin set themselves against this Kipuryk with such vigor that the noblest of warriors would have been humbled. This time the battle raged on for what seemed an eternity. Reinforcements were slow to come, and the Homins fell fast under the sweeping attacks of the Kitin champion. But the healers, with their most powerful magic brought back their friends as quickly as the Kipuryk could slay them.
And so, the Homin slowly, but diligently whittled away at the armor of the Kipuryk. They chipped at it's legs, and cast missles endlessly. Finally, the beast fell, and a calm fell over the Fyros lands which had not been felt since the Kitin first arrived. The first of the attacks had been fierce, but in a show of unity, the Homins came together and put an end the the Kitin menace. Cheers rose from the crowds of Homin, and celebrations of their victory were called across the lands. The Kitin presence is still felt strongly in all lands, but the Homin's courage has been reinforced.
