I think this invasion is what we've been asking for

Like most others, I got pretty discouraged over this event on the first day. For me, personally it wasn't necessarily about the tokens. But whatever the reason, it seems like most people have gotten really discouraged.

But after Takashi's post regarding our need to get the camps up and running, I'm beginning to see that this is a pretty involved event and we just didn't fully get it at first.

Our job is to gather kitin secretion and take it to the harvester camp. You can get this from killing the kitin invaders or harvesting the nodes that pop up in the area. This needs to be given to the harvester NPC who turns them into generic raw materials for the crafter camp. The harvester camp appears to be overrun in each land so one of the first steps is fighting back the kitin so people can get to the harvester NPC.

Once the harvester has some generic raw material, crafters can talk to the crafter NPC and get a coupon to obtain some of the raw material to craft armor and weapons. Once you turn in our armor and weapons, the NPC bundles them up and gives you a package to deliver to the war camp. For every 5 bundles you deliver, the war camp produces a guard group that will help defend against the kitin.

Takashi mentioned that the attack has not yet happened. This is our time to prepare for the attack. I'm not sure at all but I wouldn't be surprised if the outcome of the overall event and perhaps the game direction was different based on whether we do our jobs of getting the outposts prepared with guards and materials. I mean, that's what Ryzom always promised. A way for us to influence the game.

Yes, there are certainly problems with the event. Foremost seems to be obscuring the real point of what we're supposed to do with claws, tokens, and reward items. I mean, usually a reward is given when you finish the event, not along the way as an aside to what you're really supposed to be doing.

I spend the day in Bounty Beaches, Aeden Aqueous with my guildies, a very strong group from Synergy, as well as several others who joined us along the way and while certainly frustrating at times, I think we made some real progress. At least we were able to gather some secretion, craft some items, and see some guards show up (well, i didn't see the guards but everyone else said they saw them when we turned in our package of armor).

I think we need to put the whole token, clickfest, bad magic amp fiasco behind us and focus on defending our lands from the kitin that will begin their advance soon.

So let this be your call to arms! Let's rally and beat the kitin back! If we get tokens along the way, great, if not, so what. Let's not be a server that's on the losing side of this one!

Yes! I had completely written off the invasion as a form of torture best avoided but if this is true, well then, I cant wait to join up and march back and forth to the harvest camp until the royal gaurds are strong enough to secure the area for individual travel.

As I dont fully understand what is going on I would really appreciate the experience of others.

Below is my best guess as to what to do and why its worth doing.

1. Everyone loads up on kitin secretion (avoiding claws like the plaque unless you enjoy the click torture).

2. All who are ready group up for a hard fight to the harvest camp.

3. At the harvest camp everyone exchanges there secretions. What you get in return for secretions I dont know but giving the kitin secretions allows the resource master at the harvest camp to make event mats.

4. After the harvest camp NPC the resource master has been supplied with secretions the craft master at the craft camp begins giving out vouchers to crafters that complete missions for him.

5. All able crafters now complete the craft masters mission. Yes, crafters will have to waste some of there own mats but only this one time (ideally). In return for completing the mission among other items is a voucher. The voucher is good for 99 mats when given to the right NPC at the harvest camp.

6. After a few trips to get this process started. Crafters will be crafting for free using the (junky?)event mats they get from the harvest camp.

7. Crafters turn in there goods and in return receive an event package.

8. When 5 event packages are given to armor master in the war camp then one new royal guard is created.

So in the end for all our troubles what we are doing is more than leveling are individual skills we are building an army. An army of NPCs to fight the kitins.

Wow! This is neat. The invasion is not upon us yet. Now is the beginning. We are equiping are troops. So that when the time comes we are not a mob of 9 man teams but instead an army of hundreds. With the heroes (that would be us) of atys commanding the troops (the guards we equipped).

I am excited about the invasion again. Thanks Aylwyne. I wouldnt have even looked at takashis second post for me the war was a waste of time and easily avoided but now its just the beginning.

I didn't see this thread until I posted -.-

I only know where all the Officers and Kitins are in Fyros. I don't know where the attack are in the other civ. Matis, Davae? Tryker Bounty Beach? Zorai no clue what so ever because a guildie told me that he went to Zorai to look around and nobody was fighting nuthing (Zorai is underpopulated is the main reason).

A list of where the attacks, camps, and officers are in each of the Civ would be nice.

For Fyros, the attack is at Dyron. Northwest of the map, just a little south of the Under Spring Portal.

The supplier is in Dyron, where the war is being waged to readily collect materials from the war effort.

The 2 camps are located east and south east of Dyron. East in the lonesome pass is the Frahar Hunter camp, where you can find the Warmaster, the Armourer, the Treasurer, and the Recruitment Officer.

South east of Dyron (avoid that Matis NPC aggro tribe!), just a bit south and west of the Frahar hunter camp, is the 2nd camp where you can find the Weapon master. There is a Kami portal where you can buy a tp tikkie just a bit east of that camp also.

I guess I'm just going off what Takashi said:

"Remember now Homins, they are setting up, but they have not yet begun their attack. They are bound to attack soon so stay watchful Homins, and get to work! We must further our defenses."

It sure sounds to me like we're not just supposed to relax and see where it goes.

We think we just confirmed something.

Mastro scouted the south side of Fyros where the overlords armies are coming from, and he died But before he did, he thinks he saw an Imperial Camp near the blocked in portal somewhere. He also been doing the crafting mission, and he saw 10 guards head out to that camp after delivering a bunch of packages.

If we are able to reenforce a camp to the south with guards, we can move there and have a safe spot for fighting. We will try to see if this is indeed the case. Will post further update.

Aelvana, I think the massing is over. This is the initinial strikeforce probably. It will get worst.

Ok, just found something out. After we turned in the packages and a regiment of Imperial solider arrived, we tried following them. A few time we went into the occupied territory and died. But just now, we followed them to a safe spot close by. They are filling out all the guards towers all over Fyros.

I think now, we just have to fill them all ...

Anyone got a map of all the guards towers in Dunes of Exile? hhaahhahahhaha!
