Some feedback on tonight's event

First off, thanks for trying to make an interesting event and actually providing tangible rewards. I don't want this to appear unappreciative of the hard work that went into this.

That said, there was definitely room for improvement. I'm basing my observations off of the Matis side of the event; however, I asked a few friends in other lands and their comments were similiar.

1. Advertising for the actual location and conditions of the event could have been improved. Took a while to find out that there was in fact a camp that was the center of this whole shebang. Took even longer to figure out which NPCs were important to talk with and what the whole purpose was...not to mention trying to figure out if there were more NPCs someplace else to accomplish other missions. Guides could have been a big use here as well as better written text and named NPCs (e.g. 'Matis Royal Welcomer', 'Matis Royal Crafter' etc)

2. Inclusiveness wasn't there. I appreciate the fact you thought about harvesters and crafters in the greeting, but all the rewards that I saw were based on killing things. Not that most of the kipees/kinchers were tough to kill, but it looked like the only way to get rewards was to do so. The crafting/delivery missions appeared broken or missing.

3. The exchange was clunky...and bugged Limiting us to trading 5 items at a time for 5 basic currency items when it took like 1600 of the currency to purchase a real item added a very clunky, slow, tedious factor to the process. And then you got to exchange yet again...10 at a time this time. And then, the temp inventory bug reared its head and if you put in a bad amount the items were lost forever. Not good. Oh, and you couldn't team up and trade them either.

4. Items for purchase were...blah. Selling basic NPC items as a reward - of unknown ql until you spent the tokens - makes a nice mantle piece but as a reward for a player doesn't do much. And then...once you buy such items as an amp that provides 20% boosts (haven't seen one that low since the starter pack) the entire point of a tangible reward goes down the drain.

Anyway, I hope this helps in planning for the next event. Thanks.

Just like to add my view also.

to your points

1. when teh initial invasion began there was no camps etc just masses of hordes, and suddenly they appeared this goes with the story line of the following line, "Our leaders meet currently to discuss the building of new outposts where we can muster our forces and defeat these evil hordes. We cannot stand by and let the Kitin swarm over every corner of our fair lands."

Albeit we were running like headless chickens wondering what was gouign on when they appeared. the confussion of war :) and the first thing that the enemy strikes is the communication lines :P heh though i dunno if kitins are that smart :) )

2. Crafting delivery mission i have just completed - i crafted 4 vests and took to master armour crafter who then gave me 1 token and 1 average package and 1 average order - i presume however if u can craft at q100 - q150 - q200 u get prime - select - supreme of the above. upon taken package to npc i got 1 token and apon taken my order to resource npc i got 99 generic raw materials of q50 (most likely get q100 etc for the higher packages) and 1 average token. Now i havent crafted yet with the generic mats so dont know if you get xp but if u do and u dont have dp u are getting free mats to craft with and to level either melee weapon skill or heavy armour skill.

3. i totally agree here its a grind and a half

4. weapons not so hot yes so you might aswell get dappers or fame though u need a hell alot of tokens to gain fame.

All in all i belive this to be a long term event and we just have to keep defending and killing the kitin. keep supplying the npcs with our mats till all the imperial gaurd are equipped with armour/weps and trigger the next stage of the event (i hope :p ).

Alot of hard work must have went into this event and i hope there is more to come.

I have to agree regarding the amp - it did possess some nice features - 1000 sap load and significant levels of sap and stamina(?!?!? on an amp) boosts - but the 20% bonus to speed/power all but make it useless. Even the worst player crafted amps are better than this.

Also the trading process was very clunky - this should be looked at.

I would like to add though - this is getting more like what to expect from the game packaging :)

This coming from the matis side of things:

I was a little disappointed by the fact the mobs went from light blue color straight to purple and nothing in between ><

I agree that being limited to trading 5 claws at a time is tedious but i have a feeling this was done on purpose :)
Maybe increase it to 15 per trade?

Or just make the npc talk less because having to click through 3 boxes of dialogue wich you dont read just merely so you can hand the bloke some tokens is annoying :|

Other than that the whole thing was really good fun, especially taking part in the huge counter attack, which went quite well till we got down the bug whole and was massacred :)

Nice work, though its not over yet, will see you tommorrow to continue the fight!

the rewards are very good weapons if you pick the expensive one.....

i saved up 120 prime tokens and bought my self a monster of a burning axe its stats are:

200q
37 hits per min
133 hit points
1000 sap load

100 hp boost
200 sap boost
300 stam boost

and its enchanted with lvl 5 fire spell

you cant ask for a better weapon if you ask me ;)

it wasnt easy changing 1200 claws to tokens tho i will say that :P

Looks like I should have got one of those bad boys instead of wasting loads of tokens on no fame at all (that was fun). :D

Then I couldn't wait to purchase my High QL Basic Amp that can be sold to the vendor for a wacking price of 8k and the super 20% power......and....stamina power

I also had great fun 'almost' killing a suckling yubo with my new amps and lvl 4 fire spells.

Shame really the event showed great potential....

Well this event was fun for me: a max DP and a punch in the face from a guard (twice).... after a miss click because he decided to walk through the muppet that would only take 5 claws at a time.

what are the stats roughly of the 10,20,30 prime weapons?

and how can you have mats instead of weapons? :)

i have 120 average token, which i cannot transform because the npc won't talk to me anymore, so it's becoming a bit unnerving ;)

Agree fully with the first two posts, and even agree with helbreat (faints in shock) :-)

The main thing for me personally was the clickfest. I think the real issue was that the attempt to drive back the invasion effectively ended once people realised there was a reward. Everyone seemed to give up finding the boss and went mad to collect tokens.

Seems the reason for this was that people were concerned the event would end and they wouldn't be able to exchange their tokens etc, which kind of defeated the object for me. Perhaps if tokens couldn't be exchanged until after the invasion has been repelled? That would give people the incentive to kill the kitin and drive them back, knowing that they will then be able to go to the officers and get rewards. Even the NPC text seemed to reflect thias as they all talked about the invasion in the past tense, as if it was already over.

On the subject of rewards, I got an amp of q200 which I can't use as my magic is only level 40 :-) Having said that, I never expected them to be all that hot, I was more after a kind of souvenir to say "I was there". With that in mind, perhaps some kind of text on the item description to say it was a reward for repelling an invasion might be a nice touch. You know, something to show the grandchildren :-) Perhaps even a title might be added to the reward options, something like "Kitin Slayer" or similar. I think many people would like that.

On the whole though, I really like the way this is going.

Is that the high quality amp for 40 tokens? Or is that a differant one?
