Jewelry Decay

Recently jewelry has been changed to decay as the rest of the armor does. I do not have a problem with this, as it makes sense as armor wears and jewelry is something we wear and use. However, I am having a real problem with the decay rate on hp jewelry. I have a set of focus jewelry that I've had for a few days with only losing I think about 20 hp's on it. I do a ton of foraging and crafting, in fact it's almost all I do hour after hour. When I went to fight the other day, I had just bought myself some really nice Q150 hp jewelry for 175K. I was very happy with this price and had actually expected to pay alot more for it. But needless to say, I was very upset when I found that after only a day of fighting (about 6 hours worth) it was down to about 60 hp's out of 114. Being said that I paid 175K and was happy with the price, I am not going to spend that every 2 days worth of fighting. I realize in fighting things are going to take a much worse beating than doing something like foraging, but I think this is way too extreme. Our armor does decay but not nearly at this rate. I know this has really made a huge hit on everyone because even my Q90 jewelry is being requested left and right which I never got before with the Q being so low. I would like to request that this be adjusted to a reasonable decay rate.

Right, I am amazed too before 2 days I had almost 70% on all of my jewelry wich I ve been using for at least 2 weeks and now most of them gone. I wonder why not more ppl complain about this, either they havent discover jewels in game yet, or they actually dont play at all and wait for their subs to run out. lol

I think some of people are not aware of it yet because I have mentioned it to a couple of people and they checked their jewlery after I mentioned it and were surprised. But I agree with you that I am surprised more have not complained about this because I have found a number of people do know about it and they grumble but not post. I made sure to do a keyword search thinking there had to be some post I could add to and not wanting to create an extra un-needed thread but to my surprise I found none.

People actually are aware of it and have voiced their concern on the forums. Here's a couple of threads that were going pretty hot when this change was first introduced:

Yup it's really bad. I think eventually it's going to be like we used to do with armor when it decayed so fast......never use it or buy it.

Thanks good to see others posting about this, these didn't come up when I did my search based on 'jewelry'. I just hope this gets fixed.

Hey, I'll add my 2 cents worth also
I am new to Ryzom, so I don't have a history of playing with non decay, so no feeling like something was "taken away" from my gaming experience. What I do know is that the decay rates are beyond ridiculous. I certainly understand the need to have stuff fail over time, to keep a valid crafting economy. In fact, a no decay system would just plain bite. However, we need to have it drastically reduced. jewelry should last longer than armor and melee weapons. Ranged weapons also longer.
Ryzom has such wonderful character and potential. Please don't tarnish (pun intended) our experience.
By the way, I WILL make it to the border portal!!! Never give up!

ps: Thanks Lexi for getting another thread going. This and the gimped ranged ammo issue are my two hot buttons

I hope the Greetings was not part of the non-serious post part ;P Though if the PS... and Greetings were serious then most of the post would be serious O_o hm...

It seems there two kind of fights involved in Ryzom for us players, the 1st being our everyday fight with the Kittins and the2nd is our occasional fight with the Devs..and it is already noted that they seem to have a powerfull arsenal at their disposal, like it seems running scripts are not apparently the only way they have in altering real time game content..but also they seem to posses a server side ability to alter numbers concerning simple game items. Jewelry in creased decay caught me by suprise and probably still is going unnoticed because there was no patch involved..just a server side file that was altered..as simple as that.
